I'm so Frustrated and Disheartened...

Hi ladies :)

I have been trying for a few months (5?). In September went through series of test to find out that I had a large cyst on my right ovary. It was removed in October (laproscopic cystectomy) and they also performed a procedure where they flushed my fallopian tubes to clear out anything that could block it potentially (tmi). We were cleared to start with TTC at the end of October, and have had no luck. I went to the Dr. last week to learn that I may have issues with my kidneys. (I can't win...)

I track my periods, ovulation dates, and fertile periods (with an iPhone app), and I know we were told to give it a year, but is there anything that I may be doing wrong? One nurse practitioner told me to have the hubby get a sperm analysis to see if there may be anything wrong on his end--- but secretly, I am afraid there may be something wrong with me.

Anyone else stressed about the whole TTC process?

I think it is completely normal to be stressed when ttc. You are definately not alone. When you have waited your whole life for something so important you want it ASAP. I was super emotional for days this month after AF showed, but the most important thing is to have a healthy pregnancy when it does happen. Take care of any health issues now cus it will be exacerbated by pregnancy and then dr.s are very limited to what can be done. It is emotionally exhausting ttc and not getting any results but try to have faith that you will have your baby when they are meant to be here

Thanks KWoodrn, you are right and many have said this to me--- I need to just be a bit more patient and take care of myself so that I am in good shape for any little one we are blessed with in the future. Thank you for your kind words...

We have been trying for 4 months - one of those we found out that my thyroid was out of range (I have been medicated for hypothyroid for 8 years) and that was definitely impacting my chances of getting pregnant.  So in my case, yes, there was something wrong with me, but it was fixable.  Not everything that could be wrong is permanent.  Make an appointment with your doctor and explain your fears.  Ask if there is anyway they can do some tests now.  Peace of mind that everything is "working" so to speak is worth it to me.

There is only a 20% chance of getting pregnant each month when both you and DH are healthy - don't beat yourself up!

Just wanted to send you a hug, A :-)

KWoodrn and Claire gave awesome advice. Claire's last point about the percentages even under ideal circumstances is something that is always on my mind -- it really is such a miracle the more you learn about it. I think if it will give you peace of mind to get everything checked out and just get more information about your health (and/or your DH's), it would be a great idea.

Good luck, I will be thinking about you! :-)

I know the feeling.  It took DH and I 7 months to get our BFP after my m/c.  By month 6 I was starting to get restless and irritated.  What helped us was PreSeed.  Not sure if you use that or not but we added that and got our BFP that cycle.
