I WORK AT A GYM! (introduction)

hello,

names heather, i started working in a gym in march as the front desk person which means that i have the ability to work out everyday but guess what! i still can't get motivated, one of my good friends i met working there is a personal trainer and i meet with him twice a week for 45 minutes each time. i watch what i eat and log it.

ive gone from 174 to 161 and my goal is 150. im about 5'8" so 150 would make me look how i want. ever since ive hit the 160 mark ive been having tons of trouble tho. i feel like im starving to death and i just can't drop the pounds like i was.

hopefully joining up with you girls will help me.

if any of you girls live in the columbus area, i work at the polaris location. come on in i'll let you through as long as im working.

That's a great job!  It'll keep you on track :)

If you are feeling hungry, you need to eat!  Don't starve. . .you might hit a plateau because your body is holding onto everything you eat because it's hungry.  Try adding some fiber and protein . ..  fruits, veggies, almonds. . . all good snack foods that fill you up more.

Agree with the ladies!  2x a week with a trainer is great but if you add another couple of times per week I guarantee you'll see the rest of that weight come off FAST.

150lbs at 5'8....hmmmm, my goal weight is 162 b/c that's the top of my "healthy weight range" but I guess I'll see when I hit 162 (in a million years) if I need to keep going!

HAHAHH well lorienne i used to have cut six pack abs in high school, i never started gaining weight until i got out of high school and decided my three daily meals a day would be going to burger kind and eating a double cheeseburger meal with fries a coke and an apple pie. THREE TIMES A DAY! WHAT! so anyway i want to get back to looking that good and i was about 145 then. i wish i could go more than twice a week to the personal trainer but that's all im aloud for free and i can't afford it or i would!

mountainbride i don't mean im literally starving myself. lol. i just feel like im starving, i eat about every three hours and i was eating 1500 calories a day as recommended by my personal trainer but then i went online and put in all my stats and they recommended 1200 calories a day, so i end up eating about 1300-1400 calories a day. it feels like i want to eat all the time. ahhhhhhhhh!!!

thanks for the idea jesandshan, do you have any recommendations on some good greek yogurt, i tried it but maybe the stuff i got was just disgusting *bleh*

Hi Ladies! I am also working out a lot and have a bit more to loose than jonniethm, but am also 5'8" and work out with a trainer a few times a week.

Jonniethm--How much cardio are you doing a week in addition to the training sessions? You should shoot for something almost every day, even if it's just a mile walk at a decent clip. I do an hour of cardio 5-6 days a week in addition to the training and am on a fairly strict diet.  It has really worked though!  Do you follow a diet?  What does it involve? If so, try to keep to it all week and then have one cheat meal a week to trick your metabolism. It will re-balance it and so that you don't need to continuously cut calories to loose more weight.  This will also give you something to look forward to if you are tempted, as I too often am, by treats. Another diet note is to eat small meals every 3 hours. It will keep your body from going into starvation mode and storing fat instead of burning it off.

Also, I have found that on days that I don't want to work out, I will call a friend to do something active with. This way the day isn't a complete bust and you get to have girl time.

Hope this helps!
