Ideas to keep kids busy at weddings?

Hi all,

My fiance and I are having kids at our wedding, but for every location we are considering, we try to see if there is a separate room where the kids can play or watch cartoons under supervision.  We might not be able to get that separate room at the location we finally choose though.

What can you recommend to keep the kids busy while their parents and the other adults have fun?

We're looking about about 15 kids under age 15... may be even 12 (ages vary).

Thanks!

I think I am going to have some coloring things for them to do at the table. Or have little cheap toys to give them.

I printed out pages of Disney couples for them to color (Google:  Disney couple coloring pages), we are putting cushions in a dark corner with a dvd player and Disney movies, we had the option of renting a smaller room for kids and getting a babysitter, but decided to save the money.

Cover their tablecloth in paper that they can color on, have a "treasure chest" of dress up clothes, feather boas, necklaces, etc, a balloon sculpturist, a face painter, candy crafts, etc.

I purchased some glow necklaces, silly putty, coloring books. I also got them each a custom made Surprise ball (tropical themed) which will have lots of little fun toys to play with... and unraveling them is a blast too.

From what I have seen at past weddings, if there is dancing, the kids love to join the adults doing that. Unless the adults are extremely uptight, no one has any problem with it. If there is no dancing, then they find their own corner (without the need for movies or coloring books, etc) and entertain themselves and each other.

I personally would never invite kids if they were required for any reason to be put in another room.

We are having children, they will eat during cocktail hour so 'Mum's' can help if needed and when we are eating they are having a childrens entertainer. This is all in a seperate room and then they will join us for the remainder of the evening.

How about making a wedding quiz, treasure hunt, colouring in books.

I will most likely have about 20 kids at the wedding and here are my plans....

Kids will have their own table and at each place setting will be a little bucket of crayons and coloring books. Their will be a small styrofoam cone wrapped in ribbon with lollipops stuck in it. For their party favor I will have a bag of chocolate chip cookies for each of them. Then there is an upstairs portion to my venue that I will be utilizing as a game room there. I am going to bring in 2 flat screen tv's and plug in PS3 and Wii.

I am still thinking that won't keep them occupied enough so I am looking for more ideas. That is what I have for now.

I saw a wedding where the bride had diy'd lunch boxes for the kids with activities and kid friendly foods (complete with juice box).  The lunch boxes were adorable and the kids were well taken care of.
