ily2themoon: Recap 2 wait... it's my wedding!
Recap one <-- if you missed it!
Wedding day: So, although I was terribly sad about the damage that occurred to my parent's property and all of the hard work we put in to make it look beautiful for the wedding, I had to move on. After all- it's my wedding!!! So first off... I needed a shower! Since all of my relatives live nearby, no one had power or the ability to shower. However, all of our guests were staying at the hotel where the rehearsal was. So... I jumped in the car, had to figure out which roads were open, then made it to the hotel and started knocking on doors. It went something like this: **Knock knock** door opens "Gina!? what are you doing here? you're getting married today!!" "well, Aunt Jane, I am, but I have no power... can I shower here?" My family was very accommodating, and I was squeaky clean and off to get my hair done!
My "I'm getting married no matter what" face. Between curls, I was on the phone with the florist and the photographer to re-organize the morning as we could no longer get ready at my parents' house. Things were re-organized and I was ready to sit back and enjoy!
Everything went off perfectly. Yes it was hot, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky! The ceremony was beautiful, the Priest gave a wonderful homily about how in bad storms the oak trees break, while reeds survive. He likened that to the abilities to being flexible in marriage- it was beautiful, and got lots of laughs. When it came time to recite the vows, my DH said... "I Gina take you Joseph..." The whole church burst out laughing, the photographer caught the moment really well in her photos.
Speaking of photographer, Amanda Meyer did an awesome job. She had our poofs up a week after the wedding! However, I can't get all of them onto this website :( sorry!
Here are some pictures of the day from friends and family:
the centerpieces, with my roommate who helped me get all the candles using 40% off coupons from Michaels... I refused to pay full price! you can also see a little of the baby's breath wreath, the favor, and the menu.
