Well, one possibility is to find the dress you like in the store, somehow memorize the maker and style number, and then call around to see who has that dress for the cheapest. I've heard of people getting it cheaper at Pearl's Place or RK Bridal. You could also get it from a reputable store in another state that has cheaper cost of living (like Texas?) and have it shipped to you.

Las Tunas Bl, Temple City has lots of bridal shop. I got my dress, MOH, BMs and MOB at 2000 dreams in temple city (PIB). You can message me I?ll share how much I paid for the dresses.

Yelena in Monrovia is good one too.

Or you can go try dresses at different Bridal salon and ordered them online. Netbride.com is one of the online places and they are usually have cheaper price compare to bridal salon. I didn?t go that route since I want a place where I can talk to in person.

HTH

Happy Planning!!!

There is also eBay and online sites that specialize in re-selling gowns. I kind of like the idea of "sharing" the Joy of a wedding day. :)

I agree with pp - if you've found a dress that you like, check out the popular online sites. Both of these got good reviews:

Netbride (http://www.projectwedding.com/vendor/show/1323)
Pearl's Place (http://www.projectwedding.com/vendor/show/10001167)

I looked at Pebbles Bridal in Woodland Hills and they have some beautiful dresses most under $1000, there is also Alfred Angelo, there is one location in Beverly Hills, as well as one in San Gabriel...I think I have decided to go with a dress from them...and the girls that helped me were wonderful. A good thing is to look under vendors on this site...and look at recommended dress shops...

While it is a trek, Jinny's Bridal in Huntington Beach had or could order almost any dress at a lower price than other shops. There is also a warehouse place in Van Nuys -- Price Less Bridals. I didn't go there, but heard from a friend that the prices are great but you should have an idea of what you want before going.
