Indoor Reception?

We are having our wedding/reception at a resturant in LA.  We are getting a private room.  I was wondering if you guys had any ideas of decorations for an indoor reception.  Most of the things I'm finding is kind of outdoor themed, I guess because of the season.  Our colors are navy blue, and different shades of light and dusty pink.  I have the centerpeices figured out, and the favors.  The room they are giving us, is really plain, and they said we can do pretty much whatever we want, as long as things aren't on the walls with nails ect.  We are going to do a first dance, but it's not going to be a big dance party reception.  It's a very small wedding, so we're doing a dinner/cocktail type deal.  Im just having a hard time finding ideas for decor inside.  It's still really plain and I'm having a hard time with the colors too.  I would change them but we already got our bridesmaid dresses, and really I just love them.  There isn't really a theme, but I guess it's kind of old hollywood glam.  In the centerpeices there will be feathers and pearls on the vaces.  They are small centerpeices since I'm doing pretty much everything DIY.  Also do you girls have any tutorials for DIY card boxes?

The wedding is coming up on March 22.  I've only had since New years to plan so I've been so frazzled! It's much more work than I had thought, no wonder people usually take a year or so! hahaha!

That is absolutely a gorgeous venue! I think just having really nice tablescapes will make it feel more romantic and elegant (it sounds like your centerpieces are awesome!) The chandeliers in there are gorgeous!!! If you really want to add something, maybe a little bit of draping? But I can't really think of anything that will make the space better, kwim? I think it's really pretty on its own.


What color linens do you have?

Yeah....I know what you mean.  I REALLY love this place, and I'm so excited to be getting married here.  I just ordered some table runners last night.  We are going to keep the white linnens that are on the tables, and have the navy table runners along the center.  We also ordered some navy personalized napkins that have our names and the wedding date.  Everything is DIY so the napkins were a big help. Then I got these faux diamond strips that are pretty wide.   They are light pink so I'm going to put them on top of the navy runner (they are a little thinner than the runner) then put the centerpeices on top of it.  The centerpeices are small, black, ceramic squares, and I put self adhesive strips of pearls around the center.  I'm thinking either pink or white carnations, with the pink feathers I ordered.  They will be on a foam ball so it will be a perfect circle with no greenery, just the flower heads.  Haven't decided on carnations or mixing a few other things in yet.  I also got two votive candles/candle holders (white w/faux diamond strip in center) for each table, then we'll have the favors. Yes, I seriously took the pink ribbon out of the bags and replaced it with blue....it was quite a job! Haha


I've only had since January to plan this wedding, and it's in March, so maybe I'm just overthinking it thinking I'll forget something.  I just....I feel like something is missing.


I was thinking about making like menu cards to put under the favors.  We didn't send the choices on our RSVPs since the resturaunt serves family style, so they can just pick and choose, but it might be nice for them to know what they have to choose from?  I don't know.


For the ceremony, it's on a patio area right outside the room.  It's already planned and it's perfect.  Im putting a program (maybe matching the menu cards?) and a river rock on each seat, along with a  personalized tissue ("R" monogram for Romero) in case they cry. (Only the closest of our friends and family are going to be there, so there will be tears haha)  We also got navy and pink silk rose petals to scatter on either side of the aisle.  Our ceremony is going to be a "blessing rock" ceremony, which is something our officiant suggested, even though a lot of people haven't heard about it.  Basically, every one of the guests gets a rock and the officiant explains that they are to wish good wishes/prayers/ect and then a member of our wedding party goes around and collects the rocks in a glass vase, and we use the vase as a centerpeice on our sweetheart table, and then display it in our home.  I thought it would be uniqe, and since it's small, involving the guests is key.  Anyway, I babbled. Haha! 


I just feel like I'm forgetting something....And it's getting closer and closer and I'm just not feeling calm.....

I think matching programs and menu cards would be super cute! (My sister married into a Romero family as well! hehe)


I don't think you're forgetting anything. I can picture a lot of candles in this venue, so maybe some dollar tree votives or higher stem votives to hold a lot of tea lights!!

This could help create a nice ambiance too. You can rent the lights from a local company. Votives are inexpensive. The room is gorgeous though as is. :)

I agree with Amour.... You would be surprised how lighting can really add to a room. Maybe having where your names can be uplighted against the walls....

Also maybe huge feathers in vases in the corners may add a little drama and decor

Thanks girls! You're helping me feel better....I guess when you plan so quick you always feel like your forgetting something or not doing something right. 


I feel better though, and I'm deff thinking of adding lots of candles! 


I love feathers too so much, I'm incorporating them a lot!
