invitation screw up! oops

So I received an invitation to my friends wedding and on the return envelope for the reply she just realized that the stamp was placed on the left side of the envelopes and is worried that she will not receive them back...... (Her mother n law was being helpful and stffed and stamped all of the invitations :(

If they're sticker stamps you should be able to peel them off and put them in the right spot. I have no idea how the US postal service works about things like that though.

I think all that will happen is they won't be "read" by the machine, so they'll be hand-cancelled. I doubt if the postage is correct they'd return them. But I agree with Denise...just call the post office and ask.

It happens all the time.  The only problem is the postal service person would have to do it by hand.  But you don't have to worry about it being returned.

hopefully guests will re-place the stamp when they see it.  otherwise, it may cause a delay in them getting back to you, but i would check with the post office of the implications.

i recently experienced my own invitation oops.  mine were sent out with the wrong date!  friday, the sixth of june instead of friday, the fifth of june.  i had to call and email every guest to inform of the mixup.  perhaps you could blast out an email to everyone as well?
