Invite my boss??

Hello all! it's me again lol i love this site because you all are so helpful. I have a question though.

Are you obligated to invite your boss to your wedding? Especially since you were not reporting to them for that long? I personally do not want to invite her but i have a few coworkers that I want to invite. Do you think she will feel slighted?

Have you gone through this?

help! lol

This is a bit of a touchy subject; if I'm reading this right, she hasn't been your boss for very long, but you've worked with the coworkers longer?  In this respect, I don't know if she'll feel slighted or not.  I invited my current department chair and my former department chair, but I've been pretty close to them both; I made sure to give my current department chair her invitation in private since I did not invite my other coworkers.  There may have been some who were hurt, but if they were, they didn't say anything.

Don't feel pressured to invite her if you're not close to her, but if you do so, keep the invitations to your coworkers quiet.

@moore807 she has been around before i came about two years ago but i've never worked under her. Just recently I have been told to report to her and I am not happy about it lol.. I think I will do what you said and prob even keep the engagement quiet and just invite the select few I would like to have at my wedding..

thanks for the advice!

Please keep it VERY uiet and send the invites OUTSIDE of work and make sure the co-workers don't mention it either.

I am inviting My friend Tara, but she is also a co-worker of my hubby's, but I am NOT inviting anyone else from his work. I feel a vow renewal is kind of private anyway. Tarah at least has a little idea about our lives, whereas his other co-workers and bosses have zero info.

I am inviting my co-workers, but I am friends with them outside of work. It is a little different because I own my own business too!!
