Invites - HELP!

Okay - so my invitation lady told me I shouldn't put my registry information on my invite?? Do you guys agree? She says its not etiquette to have it on there! What do you guys think?

Thanks for your help!

i agreee! if you have a website.. put it on there. or have your immediate family do it word of mouth.

IMO - i find that tacky to put your registry info on wedding invitations

yes....your registration info does not belong on the invite, and should not be on a card in the invitation envelope either.  This info can be passed via word of mouth or your website.  It can, however, go on your shower invites....hth!

Hey Natalie,

I've been reading this everywhere as well, and I've heard the same thing about it being poor etiquette. However, a large percentage of the wedding invites I've received over the years have had registry information on an insert card, along with reception information, directions, etc. Since we've got a younger crowd coming to the wedding (maybe 6 people who don't get online regularly), we're planning on having insert cards for reception information, directions, and our website. Our website will give information on where we are registered, accomodations, etc. The few family members who will not likely get online will most likely receive a phone call from a parent to see if they need any information that might be available online. HTH.

I agree.  Registry information should go either on your website or should be spread by word of mouth. You don't want to seem like you're asking people for gifts in the same breath that you're inviting them to your wedding.

we are doing the same....we're including a card with our website info...it has all the info including registry, maps, directions, links, etc.  This can also help cut down your mailing costs as well....

seems like im the only one without a website :( boo  I feel like I should do one now. is it too late im only 7 weeks away? but now that i have to send a post card of the correct location/parking info I'm thinking I could print the website on there and have people check it out.  What do you think?

I read this too but I had a problem...the majority of our older guests don use the internet...weird I know but the only person in my family that gets online is my 17 year old sister!!!

Also we are not having the luxury of having a shower so we didn't have a choice but to put the register cards in the invites...at this point I don't care what people think, because we aren't even doing a great reception :(
