is it tacky....

to print addresses on labels instead of on the envelope?? im soo lazy and dont want to deal with putting all the freaking envelopes through the stupid printer lol... for my STDs i printed directly on the envelope, and although it looked good, i wasted SO many trying to get the d@mn thing to print straight! and i know i dont really have any to spare for my invitations...i was thinking maybe printing on clear labels, or plain white ones..

thoughts??

I don't think it is at all. I see a lot of people print addresses on labels.

Go for it! Now that I look back- why didn't I just do things to save the headache, some stuff is just not worth it IMO

- You could do something unique- like paper-source has special shaped labels and in different colors, and examples to see...

- I have also seen when the rectangular label wraps around the envelope and return address is on the back! Has any one ever seen this too- its pretty cool/ different...

Just some thoughts if you want to spruse it up!

I was planning on printing on labels, since I have about 200 invites to put together and mail, so I decided to do the following. I just made the label on powerpoint and added my motif. I will post the final product next week. It will look similar to this:

I was planning on photo 69023-1

I love that claud! It makes it look so unique just for a simple label...

First you have to know the size of your envelope, then just figure out how far over you want it and around the back you want it.  I think even staples has them??? Then just return address on left- guest address on right- should be pretty simple actually!

If you got the other route that I had mentioned- the lady at paper-source had rectangle, oval, circle, etc labels in different colors- Not as boring as the plain rouned ones, you know?  You could even add a border around them/ motif , etc...

It's not tacky at all! It's a great time saver... I wish I had used labels for my invites... we could have done a lot of fun stuff that weekend.

I printed mine on clear labels. Our invites are contemporary so no need IMO for calligraphy or hand written invites. Not tacky at all and if anyone thought it was too bad for them. They didn't have to address them all! Besides, in this day and age, we have technology.

I am totally doing labels, and here's why:

  • I have almost 300 save the dates and then invites to send out.

  • Doing it on the computer is a huge time saver.

  • I cant afford a calligrapher.

  • My own handwriting sucks and looks like chicken-scratch LOL!

  • Nobody else would probably care about it except for me anyway!

Hey claudmend, I was wondering where you got those labels.  I have to address my envelopes still and I really don't want to pay for each envelope and I can't find the write pen for my envelopes.  Thanks.
