Is this weird?

My MOH wants to hold my shower on Sept 13th. We are getting married on Nov 22 and invites will not have even gone out by then. Is that weird?

We've sent out the stds already so people know they are invited, it just seems so early!! Am I overthinking as usual?

TIA!

Hmmm..I don't think it's too early. It's a little over 2 months from your wedding. Is that the only day that she's available to hold your shower? It could be a scheduling conflict for her. I don't think it's weird to do it before the invites are out. My friend had hers before sending her invites. She just invited family and close friends.

My Bridal shower was last weekend- exactly 2 months before the wedding.  Some may think its early, but our schedlues are crazy and thats the date that worked.  I can't be too picky with what everyone wants, especially if they are throwing it for me...

Plus, it was nice doing something fun with the wedding for once.  If all of the fun stuff is the 3 weeks before, then it goes by so fast, you know? So it my be a good thing?

Now we have my bachelorette party in 4 weeks, its nice breaking everything up a bit..

My bach party will be a month before the wedding and we want to throw the shower before that..maybe early April or late March. I like the idea of breaking everything up a bit..it's more fun and you can truly enjoy the wedding process.

BTW don't worry about the invite thing, when they go outetc.  I don't think any of that matters...?  They know their invited, and its only your closest girls!

nope,  not weird at all.  i say that because my shower is in two weeks - 2.5 months before the wedding.  i'm not sending out my invitations until a week after the shower.  i think the shower should be held whenever is convenient for you and for the person throwing it.  the STD's let the guests know the wedding is set so it's not a big deal to have the shower before they get a wedding invitation.  my bach party is the following two days after the shower.  we're doing it all in one weekend to make it easier for out of towners, including three of my BM's.  that way they only have to travel twice, for that weekend and for the wedding! :)

we're having ours WAAAAAAYYY before invites go out...our wedding is April 17, and we're having showers this September and December...partly due to locations...one will be in IA and one in CA....and those are the only times we can go....so i don't think it's a big deal if it's before the invites...just try to make sure all the shower guests are wedding guests as well, unless you know they can't make it to the wedding and this will be your only chance to see them.
