keeping wedding dress or selling and why?
I think I'll keep it... I'm into sentimental stuff like that! I'd be sad to let it go...
I'm not married yet but knowing how much I love my dress and how I hate having to take it off, I'm definitely keeping it. I would like to think that my daughter might want to wear it someday. I know my sisters both want to wear my mom's wedding dress. :)
im pretty sure unless i absolutely NEED to sell it, i'm not going to. i've always though i would keep it forever!! ;) idk just a tradition thing, i'd want my daughter to be able to try it on and all.
I'm keeping mine. Its not really a wedding dress, so I can wear it again if I want to. (I'll be wearing it three times as it is!)
Before I bought mine I was thinking of donating it to one of the charities that have been listed on the boards before. (I think one of to help military brides and one is to help breat cancer research?) But I ended up getting my dress at JCPennys in the prom dress section-so although I love it, it doesn't have a high retail value. I figure if they're not gonna get that much out of it I might as well keep it
I am not keeping my dress. FI and I will both be military, and we will move a lot, and what do I need to be dragging my dress around for? I love the idea of keeping it for a daughter to wear someday, but how many people actually wear their mom's dresses? I am keeping my veil and tiara instead, so that my niece/future daughters can wear that if they want. I am going to try to sell it or else donate it.
I will be keeping mine
I'm keeping mine...I just don't see the point in recouping a couple hundred dollars...I'm not that in need of money.
Plus, I would love to have a piece of my mom's dress now for sentimental value. I know many of us think that our daughters won't want our dresses, but you never know what might happen to you and you don't know what type of people they will be...they might want to take a piece of it to make it into a dress tag and sew it into their dress. Or maybe they'll laugh at you and tell you it's hideous. Who knows. But, I'll be keeping mine regardless
Keeping mine. Doing a trash the dress session afterwards, cleaning it, and storing her until vow renewal time....or just storing forever.
keeping it for a year to do a TTD session, then selling it (if I can get it cleaned) ;)
Keeping mine for sentimental reasons.
I have really wondered about this. Would appreciate more people chiming in!
I want to keep it. I'm sentimental and don't think I could part with it.
I bought it for $99, so it has literally no resale value. The only way I can see parting with it would be if I donated it to a charity, but I'm getting sentimental and I don't want to part with it. While I don't know if a future daughter would wear it, I'd like to think she'd at least enjoy getting to see it/try it on, and it's worth it for me just for that.
Im selling mine so if anyone is interested :)
i will keep it for sentimental value. It was only $550 so it's not like I spent a fortune that I'm trying to recoup! I not dilusional enough to think my future daughter might want to wear it, but try i ton for fun and then maybe cut some of it to wrap around her bouquet or something would be cool....
Since I'll be making some considerable changes to it and possibly trashing it, i will most likely keep mine for awhile. But i have no problem selling it or giving it away if i have to.
i stil have a lil over six months to decide on this. i have a feeling that i will end up keeping it.
I will most likely sell mine. My Monique Lhuiller dress was way over budget and I justified the purchase by saying I will sell it after the wedding to recoup some of the money. I'd like to keep it but it's really not practical....
