Kevsgirl Part 2 - Reception Recap and Pics
Part One is here...
After the ceremony, we moved on to take photos at a historic castle nearby. The forecast called for rain for our wedding day earlier in the week, but it turned out to be a gorgeous day with a little rain in the morning. Our photogs rocked and I cannot wait to see how they came out. The parasols I got for the girls were so cute!!!
We took sooooo many pictures (CANNOT wait to see the pro pics!), and went to our reception hall.
The staff was amazing -- they really took care of us and kept making sure DH and I had something to eat (we kept forgetting). It felt so nice to be married and celebrating with our friends. The champagne was flowing and everyone was so amp'd!!
Our coordinator brought Kev & I into the cocktail hour room & ball room for a first look of the decor and we were BLOWN away. No one has sent me detail pics yet, but you will be able to see a bit of the decor & lighting in some pics I'll add. Seeing everything all come together was such a great feeling!!! All the hard work paid off!
DH and his family LOVED the steel drum band I got for the cocktail hour. I think he really appreciated having his culture incorporated into the entertainment. they were phenomenal!! Boo -- forgot to take pics with them!!
We had our wedding party come in to "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas, and we came into a very popular soca song called "Palance" -- Kevin's side of the family literally went crazy when we came out to it -- really got the party started.
Our first dance was "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley. Not gonna lie -- DH and I were kind of laughing about how awkward we felt dancing alone with peeps watching, but it was still a super sweet moment.
My dad and I danced to "Wind Beneath My Wings" -- I cried, he cried, and apparently we had most of the guests in tears...oops...I LOVED this moment so much, it makes me cry still :-) Happy tears :-)
Dinner was amazing, though everyone said they were full from all the cocktail hour food. and the Izzy-tini was a hit!! LOL. Our dancefloor was packed, and we were so happy to see that our families were dancing to each others music styles and really interacting. People kept telling us how much fun they were having and some even said it reminded them of weddings on TV (pats self on back.... :-)
I didn't want the night to end, but of course it had to, right? Our last dance was to "At Last" by Etta James, and it was perfect...
