Kittyglampants' Recap Pt. 4: First Look & Photos
It was cold outdoors but it could have been much colder. We arrived at the park and found the guys in the pavilion (exactly where I wanted to do photos but didn't know if we would be able to snag it first from all of the other photographers who are always there). Dan was facing the other direction. This was another moment I had where I couldn’t believe it was my turn to replicate PW photos I’d seen of the first look. The wedding party stood back. I walked up behind Dan and said “Baby, I’m coming up behind you.” “Okay” he said. I told him he could turn around and he did. We looked at each other and he said smiled and said “You look beautiful” and I said “You look amazing”. We hugged and then we didn’t know what to do. "Now what?" LOL. I didn’t cry like I thought I would. I was feeling very relaxed and SO glad we decided to do the first look. Dan said he was just glad we didn’t have to be apart anymore.
Then the photographers directed us to do some things alone and then with our wedding party for pics. I had to climb a zillion stairs in my stilettos. I had a challenge with my dress and my veil. At one point I stepped on the bottom of my dress and it ripped a bit but you couldn’t tell when it was pulled down. My veil kept snagging on things and it fell out a bunch of times. But I loved how it blew in the breeze.
We were there for about 40 minutes but it felt much shorter. When we got back to the venue, the wedding party went inside and the photographers kept Dan and I outside to do more pics. We took some very cool pics! We were getting ready to go back inside when our DOC’s husband pulled up with his 1947 Ford. Perfect timing. He was there to let us borrow it for pics. That was a surprise that our DOC had for us a few weeks back. HOW FREAKIN’ COOL! The car was blue outside but red and black inside! Her DH said we could get in it or do whatever we wanted. We thanked him a hundred times, got in and took a bunch of pics. (I saw previews on the photographer’s camera and I almost peed.) I feel so lucky we got these!!!
