Kittyglampants' Recap Pt. 5: Pre-ceremony
We went back inside and ran into 2 super early guests. Instead of hiding, I was nice and talked to them with Dan. Dan said we should go look around the main room to see the details before they got all messed up so we did. I was blown away. I couldn’t believe how great everything looked. But it was so overwhelming that I didn’t get a chance to really look at most of it. I saw the cake table and it was better than any inspiration pic I gave to DOC. Wow. I loved our cake! But the topper was missing. I told DOC and she said “I’m on it!” (She was able to get a hold of the bakery in time and it was all resolved.) THIS is why everyone needs to hire a DOC. For serious.
I glanced at the candy buffet and it also blew away any pics I had found. DOC said that was all her assistant so I hugged her. I never got a chance to look at the tablescapes close up because I kept getting distracted later. Dan assures me they were beautiful and perfect.
The lighting? ZOMG, the lighting was what I had only dreamed it could be. We had gotten the venue lighting package and also the additional lighting package with the third party company they work with for uplighting and it was exactly what we wanted. TONS of red light. Very loungey, sultry, dramatic, very Vegas.
Then I made sure we got back upstairs so nobody else would see us. When we got upstairs, we found big bowls of ice and bottles of beer/wine. The staff had surprised our wedding party with the delivery. Let me tell you how pleased our wedding party was! "You're my new favorite people!" one of my BM's said to them. Then they brought us a veggie tray and a cheese tray. I tried to eat but I was starting to get nervous again.
The wedding party kept trying to tell us what guests were here and Dan and I didn’t want to know because just like when we play shows with a band, it makes us more nervous to know who is out there. It’s better to find out after we get off stage.
We had almost an hour to wait because even though we were an hour behind getting to first look, our photographers were so awesome that they made up time and we were back early. How’s that for amazing? My stress over the time was gone.
Oh yeah. I kind of needed to pee and I asked my sister if I should wait or go. She said "Do it now because you don't know when you will get the chance again." So I got to try out the famous sitting backwards on the toilet thing that I read about in an article on PW. It worked really well!
That hour went so fast! The boys were gone and when I asked “Where are the groomsmen?!” I was told “They are ushering, it’s fine!” It was time for the girls to line up downstairs and they left. I was told to stay at the top of the stairs and wait for my cue.
