Lace isle runner help!?

Happy Friday Ladies!

I need some help and opinions on an isle runner situation. Im MOH for my sister in law who is getting married in 3 Weeks. She did not like any of the isle runners we found so we bought white lace fabric to use and its beautiful. The carpet is dark so it will really stand out. The concern I have is the ladies heals snagging the fabric and lifting it as they walk. any ideas how I can keep that from happening?

I couldn't find it but you could maybe put candles down or heavy decorations so it would hold and keep the lace in place? Something like this....

(Or if you could use something thats going with her theme? Like lanterns or if its country-ish, or vintage...etc)

Thank you, her theme is vintage nautical so I think lanters with shells would be cute.

Is there any tyoe of spray I can apply to keep the fabric from snagging? Do you think snagging with be an issue?

The first thing that comes to mind is clear double-sided tape so the runner will stay put and not move around.  The second thing is maybe spraying it with a clear coat of spray paint to seal it, and make it not snag or want to unravel in any way.
