If I have 60 inch round tables(they seat 8), what length table runner do I need?
We had the same size tables and made ours 3 yards long (9 feet).
I could be wrong, it's been a while - but something about 3 yards sticks out in my mind. . .
So the 72 inch runners on etsy would be too short for a 60in table?
Well, if the table is 60 inches, the table runner at 72 inches would hang off each side by 6 inches.
So, that would probably be fine - if you don't mind it not draping far off the edge.
Do you have a picture of what yours looked like?? Where they hard to make?
It depends on how much overhang you want. A 72in runner will work on a 60in talble with 6in of overhang on each end. If you want more overhang, IMO that would look richer, I would use a 90in runner.
I think ours were 90' so they hang off two feet (12") off each side.
They weren't hard to make - just a lot of repetition. I used taffeta fabric, cut them (you Iron it where you need to cut and cut down the iron line, keeps it straight) and then rolled and sewed the edges shut.
I'm having a hard time finding a photo of it going off the edge. . .BRB
I mean. . .you can't see it off the edge in that photo. . .gosh I can't believe there isn't one!
Oh well. . .at least you can see how they look. If you go with the 72" you probably want a softer fabric so it falls over the edge and isn't stiff. . .I'm thinking anyways. . .if they are really stiff and lined and short like that they may stick out on the edge instead of laying down and flowing with the table cover.
MountainBride- Yay! You found a photo! I didn't even think about if the fabric was thicker it wouldn't lay right if it was too short. You did a great job on yours btw!
mountainbride-One more question! How wide did you make your runners?
