Let's be honest ladies!

As much as we all love our DH's let's go ahead and say the one thing or perhaps a couple of things they do that is gets underneath your skin!

For me, my DH does not like calling customer service and wants me to do it. I don't mind it at all, but I do mind calling when I AM NOT ON THE ACCOUNT!!! Since we had Dish Network, which sucks by the way, the HD channels never come in. It always says complete signal loss. Have done all the trouble shooting and DH even cut down branches. Friday, some other channels don't work and he tells me to call them.  I tell him as I always do, I am not on the account, they are going to ask questions I can't answer so you need to call and add me to account. Why did he just text me and say call dishnetwork? Ugh!

His time management, time management, time management!  I love him dearly but his lack of time management skills just drives me absolutely nuts!

Life is so short...it really is and a lot of times I feel like I'm still single because it's rare if we see each other before 9:00 or 10:00 every night.  It just makes me sad sometimes.  When all is said and done no one will give two hoots about how many hours he put in at the office.  I know he cares very much about the work product he puts out as do a lot of people including myself.  I'm just not willing to be married to my job or have to push the ones I love aside on a regular basis.

Anyway still love him despite that :)  It's just something I feel we need to work on.

Oh I have one issue! He is a truck driver so household business he cant take care of so I do it all! However when he is home or on downtime he will say..hey can you call and take care of such and such and I will say babe cant you call I am at work! He will say...but you know what to say to them! He does it with everything, bills, banking, his JOB even! When theres a money problem he sends baracuda aka ME! LOL

Sometimes I wish he would just take more inititive in handling household issues! After the wedding I started giving him more control over the accounts. Where as usually I give him a weekly allowance for him to use on the road only. Now when he is home and we go out..I make him pay or make him go to the bank so he can get used to it.

I think things are getting better now that he is having to take more responsiblity in taking care of business.

I totally agree with you Nicole. Cale use to do the same thing, working seven days a week. If there is overtime, he wouldn't pass on it. The closer we got to our marriage, it changed and actually not at my prompting. The same thing may happen for you too! Is he working a lot to pay for the wedding?

Ronda I feel you! Cale drives the bus so I know he can't call during the day, but yesterday he could have called Dish Network because I was at my second job. I spoke to him and we text and never once did he mention he had not called them! I really don't mind doing it, but like you said, if he has down time he should do some of this especially if I am not on the account! Cale says the same thing your DH says, I don't know what to say, you are so better at it and you have more patience! Glad to hear it is getting better!

Thanks Tressy.  No, we haven't even started officially planning the wedding yet.  We have set a date but there is no official proposal yet since our situation is a little different than most.  It's necessary for us to wait a few months.

It's not just work though.  It drives me crazy because he will say that he will see me in an hour and it ends up being closer to 4!  It's just frustrating at times.  We have discussed it and things have improved to a degree but it still makes me sad.  Even when we are going somewhere I have to keep him focused or he will be distracted by 10 other things that don't matter at the moment or that can wait.  I am a little psycho about being late to anything~blame my mother~ I just value other people's time just as much as I value my own and I think it's rude to make people wait or to be chronically late to everything.

I know we all have our faults and Lord knows I have mine but this is something that I am struggling to compromise on.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I swear my husband is dish impaired. We don't have a dishwasher in the apartment, so its all on us to wash dishes. We keep getting into this lovely cycle where whenever I want to eat, I wash a dish that hasn't been washed yet and then eat, and wash it again and put it on the drying rack. Then when he wants to eat he takes the dish I washed from the drying rack (dispite there being 10 dirty dishes on his desk), eats, and then leaves it dirty somewhere! BLAH. And he gets frustrated when there are no dishes to use!!

So I end up washing all of our dishes for the both of us. Like how hard is it to wash one of the dirty ones before you eat?? We agreed to both wash our own dishes as we go, like we eat and then wash RIGHT AWAY so they don't pile up. But when that ends up being a one sided thing, I wash all of the dishes and there are always dishes everywhere.

Its obnoxious!!!

I have a couple to add to the pile! I think a lot of guys definitely don't put as much effort into cleaning as we do! That doesn't bother me that much right now because he is stressed at work, and I have a very stress free job, so I don't mind doing a little more housework.

Here are my two to add to the pile: the way he brushes his teeth! He's always done this, so it wasn't a surprise when we got married or anything, but I don't want to go into detail, but it's something that defnitely bugs me!! LOL

And his ability to do absolutely nothing sometimes. I get that it's nice to relax every once in awhile, but sometimes I will leave for a couple hours and he is in the exact same spot he was when I left. HOW DO YOU DO THAT!? Though, I always have to be up and doing something, so that's just how I am. It's funny though. I'm like, LET'S GO!

Regardless of these things, we do have some pretty awsome Hubbys!

Nicole it is okay to vent and scarily your FI sounds like my DH! A lot changed the closer we came to the wedding and him working overtime like he use to and being late days are just about over! I pray it gets better for you my dear!

Aww Chelsi! Does he know how frustrating that is? I hope that gets better too - okay yeah right. Somethings never change. Lol and smile!

Oh Elise how I want you to go into detail about the teeth brushing. Hee-hee!

Oh my goodness I hear you about the calling! I'm always the one who has to deal with Comcast, PeCO, insurance, doctors' appointments, etc. However, in my case, it's probably for the best. I'm very Type-A - not doing those things would make me nervous!

Now let me preface this by saying that DH is a really good man. I know that there are far worse things that a man could do, and I'm lucky that this is what I complain about. That being said... this man cannot shut a cabinet door or close a drawer to save his life! Sweet Lord above I go nuts every time I see a dresser drawer three inches open... which is just about day, every drawer. I swear he just opens drawers to check that his clothes are still there or something. Or else he's afraid they'll suffocate, so the drawers have to have a minimum of a three inch open gap. And the medicine cabinet! Gah! All I can say is thank goodness we have our own bathrooms!

Tressy- Oh he knows, hahah. The main problem is that he has a bad back, so it really bothers him to stand there and wash dishes for long periods of time. And I totally understand that. But he is also a terrible procrastinator, so the two don't coexist very well. Hahah. If he didn't procrastinate on washing his dishes, he would be able to do it without it bugging him, since there would only be a few. But once they have piled up at all, he really doesn't want to do it because it would bother his back. Hmph.

We just need to get a dishwasher!! =P I know that for our next apartment, a dishwasher is a MUST. =]

Chelsi leave sweet notes around with subliminal messages - Dishwasher!! We have one and why I didn't know it???? Cale never used it, brand new. He said it didn't make any sense to use it when it was just him.

haha i have a LIST! love him to death, but some times i think hes a few cents short of a dollar. drew also hates customer service. and like you, im not on any of our utility accounts. i dont mind calling though, bc id rather hear exactly what the person is saying and fix the issue myself then hear his condenced version of what the person said and ultimately have nothing get resolved.

time management is also another huge issue of his! "ill be done in 20 minutes" is drew talk for, "see ya in 3 hours". he'll be late to his own funeral, i swear!

he also asks me questions before trying to figure out a solution. ex: the other day, as he was OPENING the drawer that we keep out take-out menus in, he yelled into the living room asking me if a specific menu was in that drawer. YOU ARE ALREADY OPENING THE FREAKING DRAWER..LOOK FOR IT!! (there were a few other select words thrown in there). he has asked me where something was, before looking for it also, only for me to turn around to help him and see that whatever it is he is looking for is within 5 feet of him. it infuriates me. beyond belief.

and my last real gripe with him is that he doesnt use his brain when he makes decisions. rather then thinking of the possible out come of his decision, or actually taking into consideration the situation of the decision, he jumps to what ever he thinks will "make me happy", and most of the time it just aggrivates me. petty example: he came home from the grocery store this week with FIVE things that i bought the day before AND crossed off the list. (the list that was in his pocket mind you). did he bother to really look at the list? no. his brain just worked off the adrenalyn of a proud puppy moment that he actually rememeberd what was on the list. but he didnt look. so i got mad. and when he did look after he got home, he said, and i quote, "oh, how did those things get crossed off?" AAAHHHHH!!!!!

LOL @ FCTF...that bugs me so much that the doors/drawers on our new kitchen cabinets close themselves! Yes. It was worth the upgrade. They don't even have handles yet, and I already love them. Lol.

I love my husband to the moon and back, but it drives me crazy that the man can not pick up after himself. I mean, nobody is perfect, and I don't mind picking up his things here and there. But I spent all day yesterday cleaning our house and what does he do the instant he gets home? Take his work boots off and throw his groody work socks on the living room floor by the couch. No. They go in the hamper in our room, and the boots belong by the door. Then he gets a Popsicle, and leaves the wrapper on the floor by the couch. No. It belongs in the trashcan sitting five feet away from you. Then he decides to change clothes, and throws his work clothes on the floor six inches from the hamper. Okay, seriously?! I spent my whole day off cleaning. Can you not at least make an effort to keep it tidy?? Thank you. Sheesh. It's bad enough that our kitchen is a torn apart disaster. Let's not let the rest of the house sink into chaos. Lol.

Well, I don't have any real complaints he does dishes he puts the seat down he goes grocery shopping and plays with the kids.

I just wish he would bring my flowers. You have no idea how long it has been since he bought me flowers. I am not even asking for expensive flowers. I LOVE carnations and mini roses.

errr, but he does buy me chocolate and tells me how beautiful I am so I guess I really should not complain.

20 years and he still does not get that I would prefer FLOWERs to chocolate. I think he likes me as a BBW I don't want to be a BBW!!!!!

If I had one thing that drove me crazy is that he does not use enough soap when washing dishes, and I end up having to do them over again.  I have asked him many, many times to let me do the dishes, as the home we recently bought has no dishwasher, but he thinks he is helping me.  I can't, however, completely blame him as I have seen his mother do dishes and she doesn't really wash them because she has a dishwasher.  I really try to do that chore, because when I go to put away the dishes and they are not clean, I get very frustrated.
