Letting yor FI see the dress??

So my FI is asking me every day if he can see my dress. I know tradition says its bad luck to see the bride in her dress before the wedding. So with that I think its ok to show him the dress. Lol hes driving me crazy. Did you or are you going to let your man see the dress before the big day???

I don't believe it's bad luck, but it depends on what you want to do! I would say make him wait ;)

I didn't show my dress until our first look right before the ceremony

I dont think it is bad luck. But I personally would make him wait, just wait until you see his face when he sees you for the first time when you walk down or your first look. It's up to you but I really dont think any 'bad luck' will come your way if you choose to show him. xx

Give it to someone to look after it for you! I have taken mine to my sister because I would like FI to see mine but he doesn't want to!!

I didn't show my DH my dress, but that was my personal preference.  If you feel comfortable showing him the dress, show him.  I would not put it on though, maybe show it to him in the bag.  That way, at least seeing it on you would still be a surprise.  You could also leave the dress at your mom's or a friend's house so you are not tempted to show him.

Oh trust me, i have backbone. I guess part me wants him to see it. If i do end up showing him it will be in the bag. Not sure what I'm going to do though. I was just curious if anyone else did or was going to show the dress to FI.

I showed my then FI now DH 20 years ago and I showed him the one I got for the Vow Renewal. I wanted to be sure he liked the dresses. The fact that he is at all interested is amazing. Some of my friends FI's cared less about what the dress looked like and did not even pretend to want to know.

I say be thankful he wants to peak! Shows he is actually excited. I know my hubby was and well 20 years later. . .  anyway it could be a a very good thing indeed!

My DH was so eager to see the dress but it was kind of fun trying to keep it a secret. I actually think that even though he would bug me to see it, that it was more of a fun game. Once, when I went for a fitting one of my BMs was trying on her dress. I snapped a pic and showed DH. He was so mad at me because there was a reflection of me in my dress taking the picture! He could hardly see anything, but that's when I realized he really wanted to be surprised.

I woulnd't say it's bad luck. I think it's up to each couple. Just remember, once you show him--you can't unshow him! (unless you buy another!)

I don't think it's bad luck, but I think it is a highlight to see the bride for the first time in her gown on the wedding day. It really depends on what you feel comfortable with, but as for me, I did not let my DH see my dress before the wedding.

I don't think it's bad luck and I also think it's totally up to you.  That being said I am waiting until I walk down the isle for the first look.  I totally understand why people do first looks or let their FI see the dress beforehand but to me it's the sweetness of that moment that is so special in my opinion.

I don't think it is bad luck at all! When I initially went to look at dresses, DH was with me. We went in David's Bridal on a fluke because I originally wanted to order my dress online, but we started trying on dresses and wouldn't you know it, we both fell in love with the same dress! He was great. Helped me in and out of my dresses. When I went to purchase the dress, they raised the price and it was out of my price range. I went to pick out my dress the second time alone and this time, he did not see and he was so happy he didn't. The look on his face when he saw me coming down the aisle was priceless!

I was lucky that DH didn't want to see until the day of. I say make him wait, it's more fun that way! I do encourage a first look though, we didn't do one because I was unfamilar with the idea and thought walking down the aisle should be the first time. That's still sweet, but we only gone one picture of his face when he saw me and it was a weird angle...so I highly suggest a private moment for you two before the ceremony to get some really memorable and special pictures!!

I don't think it's bad luck and completely your decision...I agree, it is really hard - we have 29 days to go and the dress is one of the only things my FI has been kept completely in the dark about...if anything, just show him the dress in the bag - it will look so different on your big day :)

Do what you want and what you are comfortable with. I do not plan to show my FI until our first look as we take photos

I haven't let him see it yet and i don't think i will. I really like the idea of a first look. This way i won't make him cry in front of everyone, just me and the photographer...

I don't believe in all this stuff about bad luck. For your first marriage, your young and excited...no, i wouldn't let him see.........only cause it's a surprise, nothing to do with luck.
