Litter Boxes

What litter box does everyone use? How many do you have for how many cats?

We don't really have a great place to put our litter box so we are trying to find one that we can put behind a chair in our living room and hopefully not have litter spread everywhere.

I really wanted this one:

What litter box does photo 1874206-1

from www.modkat.com but its $180 - yikes!

So I just ordered this one:

What litter box does photo 1874206-2

same idea - just not as cute - and only $30.  (from www.clevercatinnovations.com/)

Has anyone used one of the top entry litter boxes?

I thought about getting this one too:

The Booda Dome Cleanstep - but its a little big and I didn't think it would fit into the corner I want to put it in as well...

Which one do you guys use?

We used to have this one

We used to have photo 1874812-1We used to have photo 1874812-2We used to have photo 1874812-3 it's a roll 'n clean.  I do not recommend it.  Very mess b/c it doesn't seal properly and poo gets stuck in the grates a lot.  Not fun to clean.

We used to have photo 1874812-4  and now we use this one.  It has three pans in the bottom - one for shifting and two for holding the litter  It's pretty easy to use. It also has a front panel and an air vent on the top.  We had to remove the front flap b/c the kitties would not go into it.  We have 2 cats and 2 litter pans.

I use the Clevercat litter box and it's AWESOME!!! Much less of a mess cause they can't scrape, push, or kick the litter out and most of the litter that comes out just stays on the lid.  My cats had no problem adjusting from the normal box to this one!!! I have two cats and they share the box.

Ooooh - that clever cat thing looks awesome!

I'm not sure my furball is smart enough to use it though?  Was it a tough adjustment for them or did they all figure it out pretty quickly?

I have the Omega Paw Roll N Clean and it is the BEST LITTER BOX EVER!!! I don't have problem with poo getting stuck in the grate and it only takes 10 seconds to clean the cat box!!!

I've used anautomatic one before but they kept breaking.  Now we use a couple of plain and simple litter boxes.  We have four cats.

I thinkI need to get a couple of the Clever Cat boxes.  Those look great!

I bought a large clear Rubbermaid tote and then cut out a large enough space in the lid for my kitty to sneak in and out of. It resembles the Clever Cat model above. But only cost $8.

I have the same Booda you pictured. I do like it but it was a necessity for me when we brought our dog home. She was a sneaky cat poo eater. Gag! We like it pretty well. It's hard for me to find the liners locally though which is pretty annoying.

A little update:

We have been using the clevercat for about a week now - we went from two litter boxes down to one too. They were a little freaked out at first so we kept the top off so they didn't have to jump into the hole - but now its on and we haven't had any accidents! yay! Litter outside the box is much less of an issue too :)

Wow, I need to try that Clever Cat one but I think we will start with a trial like BlissfulKate mentioned - Rubbermaid tote with hole cut in lid!

Right now, we have an elderly, blind Maine Coon cat that would not be able to jump but the other two younger kitties could.  He is not going to be with us much longer I'm afraid. :o(
