Livestrong v. SparkPeople

Which one do you use?

I hate tracking calories, however it is the best thing for me to do b/c I am least likely to run to Wendys for lunch if I have to write it down.

Friends of my bio... can see that I have been stuck in the weight loss plateu! I keep staying in the same range... and I have been here for months!!

I keep going back and forth about being serious and being frustrated. Right now I am kinda in the frustrated column... knowing that I need to go back to behaving.

Therefore which calorie tracker do you use? The daily plate on Livestrong or SparkPeople? and why?

i used to use thedailyplate.com (before it became livestrong) and then i fell out of the habit of tracking my calories. now i use sparkpeople, and i really like it and have been pretty consistent in using it to track both my calories and my workouts. one feature on sparkpeople that i really like is that, when you're done entering your meals for the day, you click on a button and it gives you an analysis of what you've eaten - basically tells you whether or not you're on the right track and explains why or why not. very informative. i'm not sure if livestrong has a similar feature.

by the way, i can totally relate to your frustration at being stuck at a plateau. when i was trying to lose weight before my wedding, i got stuck for weeks and weeks despite working out harder and more consistently than i ever have before. i was frustrated to the point of tears... what helped the most was switching up my workouts and also not being so hard on myself. i didn't let myself give up, but i didn't kill myself at the gym either. i didn't quite meet my short term goal for the wedding, but i was happy with what i had accomplished (so far... still working toward my long term goal!)

Hmmm, I might have to try one of these, though I do not track calories currently.  I like the idea of the feedback though, as jamichael mentioned on sparkpeople.

I agree that switching up workouts is key to overcome a plateau.  I think that topic deserves its on thread here, actually, so I will start it now.  :)

I used SparkPeople last year to lose some weight and I really liked it.  Recently I tried the Livestrong site and didn't really care for it so I'm back to using Spark and actually counting my calories everyday.  It gets so tedious but when I was doing it before was the only time I actually saw good progress.
