Loft/Gallery wedding venues

Hello everyone,
I'm searching for a venue in Los Angeles that is a really hip and stylish loft or gallery in Los Angeles. I've been looking at the Marvimon and love it but could really use some more suggestions. Any ideas for studios, lofts, galleries in LA??
thanks so much,
L

I know a ton and I can recommend some but I do want to point this out about those situations:

they are completely raw spaces - in terms of weddings- and you have to bring everything in- not many are equipped for high volumes of people. I am helping plan a Bat Mitvah now with a friend in a loft and we're having to do everything: have it decorated, hire a valet vs. just the "normal" things you bring in like catering and DJ.

before I give any recos- maybe you want to say how large you need/how many people and what the budget is?

hi,
I had to creat a new user name but it's still me... the girl who wants a loft wedding. We have 75-100 guests (most of our guests are international and we're not sure how many will actually make it) The budget for the entire wedding is $15,000.00
Looking forward to your reccommendations!

You might want to also look at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. They let you BYO most things from a list of vendors, so it can be somewhat cost effective.

GL planning!

I haven't been there myself, but I always think the Oviatt Penhouse (www.oviatt.com) looks so awesome in photos. It sounds like it may be the aesthetic you're looking for...

The Gene Autry Museum in Griffith Park is beautiful, and is easy to find and has plenty of parking.....

I live in a building downtown called the Pacific Electric Lofts. It is an amazing historic building (the orginal Pacific Electric Trail Depot as well as the tallest building west of the Mississipi until the 50's!) TOn of movies and tv shows have been filmed here, LA Confidential, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Spiderman, CSI New York, 24 etc. On the top floor thsy have this AMAZING 2 story loft space called the ballroom that would be PERFECT for a wedding(I had already booked my venue when I saw it, otherwise...) It is huge, with amazing city views arched windows and skylights. I know they rent it out, but I don't know the cost. I think you can just look up PacificElectricLofts.com. Anyway it is stunning! Also, the Oviatt (mentioned above) is a beautiful Art Deco Space. Fairly small, but charming! Hope that helps

I know someone who lives in the PE Lofts and the building is amazing and LARGE! is the parking convenient to the top floor? my only concern there would be getting lost. Once my FI and I were in the building visiting someone and I commented that it would be very easy to get lost in there!

As long as the guests know to take the elevator directly to the top floor (or PH2 as it says in the elevator) the entrance to the ballroom is right outside of the elevator lobby. I dont think you would need to worry about getting lost. As for parking, there is a structure in the building, but that is barely enough for residents. However there is a large lot DIRECTLY across the street, you might be able to work with them to get a special rate for your your guests of some sort.

I've been in the Pacific Electric space too (although not for a wedding), and I agree with PP - it's spectacular!
