Long or Short?

Considering my venue is the castle I am wondering if I should have my BP wear long or short dresses? I am allowing them to choose their style as long as they are in the color we choose.

Since the ceremony is outside in April I am torn on which one. I want them to be comfortable of course but I also want them to fit with the style of the wedding. Our dinner is buffet style not a served plated meal so not sure if that really has anything to do with it. The most lavishing thing is the venue itself.

I dint think the venue matters as long as you and the girls are happy! I understand wanting them to be comfortable of course. Would you consider having them wear the gown for the ceremony and let them change for the reception?

I was thinking the same thing Fearce. I even considered buying one of their dresses for them so in pictures at the reception you can still tell who my bridal party is.

I'm having convertible dresses. Have you considered doing that as another option?

Kim, I am going to tell you as I have told every bride before me and will resound until the end of time. This is YOUR DAY, YOUR WAY! These days, there are no rules when it comes to weddings, because you are making it your own. It is about what you want and I don't see anything wrong with them wearing short dresses if that is what you want. I had buffet style at my wedding and my bridal party had on long dresses because that is my style. We got married outside on a terribly hot June day! I remember this episode on Martha Stewart that I just love of this bride who got married at a castle as well. Everything about her wedding was so her, unique and comfortable. Her bridal party did not have on long dresses, there were paper flowers as centerpieces & bouquets and she had huge balls on the lawn so the kids could play with them and she got married at a castle! I can't wait to see what you will come up with!

WOW!! I went through the same thing wanting my girls to be happy since I am getting married in August when it's hot so I went with short and my wedding is black tie. I agree with Tressy whatever you want long or short do it your way. I so can't wait to see your ideas.

I agree. You should just go with whatever style dress that you like better. :)
