Looking for a Rustic or Barn Venue in the Bay Area, CA

I've been looking for a couple months now for a "rustic" or "barn" wedding venue in the Bay Area.  I found an awesome site called Vignette Vintage Ranch in Los Gatos.  However, when we came to visit, my fiance was not feeling the rustic, chic vibe.  He told me, "he did not want to get dirty."  I lost the battle when he took out his iphone and can't get a phone reception.

So, now I am back to square one, does anyone know of a slightly rustic wedding venue for 100 guests within the Bay Area?

I totally love Nestledown & Beltane Ranch- it's so lovely. But, it's beyond what I can afford:( I am working on a very modest budget - that is why it's so tough to find the right venue for the right price.

Thanks for the input.  I will check out the rest of the posts..Anyone else, I appreciate your help.. :)

My original goal was a fall "rustic chic" wedding in the bay area, too....I probablly spent 3 months searching for venues and really didn't find much. It seems like all of the "barns" are crazy expensive! One option that I considered was a barrel room, it isn't quite the same feel but if you decorate it the right way maybe it could be? Leal Vineyards in Hollister is pretty and lower in cost than a lot of others. Hope that helps! Good luck!!

Try posting on the Northern California boards also...

I can't think of anything on top of my head right now, but I'm sure there must be venues that fits your description...

hey you sound like me! Im also looking for inexpensive yet rustic or vintage venue. I view this restored house in Shoreline area (Mountain View) called the Rengstorff House I have the brouchure right infront of me and the rate is $1400 for 8 hours and has a place for ceremony and reception. It hold up to 150 people the only downside is you have to bring in everything (tables, chairs.. etc). My mother keeps pushing that venue on me but Im considering the Shinn Historical Park in Fremont. I havent viewed it but its an old cottage and had space for up 200 and includes tables and chairs (which I looked into and is a big extra expense). I've noticed when you go on city websites they will have historical places that are for rent.

I am going crazy looking for the right barn, vintage, rustic venue that is priced within my budget and at the same time tasteful and especially "clean" because several months ago. My fiance visited "Vignette Vintage" in Los Gatos, CA.  It was super rustic, old, vintage, muddy, but it has a charm that contrasts with the wedding styles now.  However, my fiance is not happy walking over uneven trails and dirt plus he was unable to get any phone reception. Even if I like the place, I wasn't able to win when I saw his permanent scowl. lol

Right now, we are deciding between Newcastle Wedding Gardens, by Auburn/ Sacramento and Wines and Roses in Lodi.
