Luckysbride: Wedding Recap Part 2
UPDATE: Some more pictures on page 2
The reception went off without a hitch. We were introduced for the first time to a song DH pick out: Shipping up to Boston by the Dropkick Murphys. It was so much fun! The food was great…I must admit there were a few things that I’m not happy about, the presentation for one, and the pasta we picked was supposed to be sautéed table side and it wasn’t...but the taste and flavour was there and that’s all that really matters in the long run. Chris and I ate like crazy so we could go around greeting all of our guests. After hugging 130 people it was time to cut the cake. Our cake was amazing! I wish I had pictures to show you…I do at home so you’re just going to have to wait a few more hours. DH did good and there was no smashing of the cake in my face! Only sweet feeding with a fork. After cake cutting we headed to the dance floor for our first dance. We danced to I Love Your Love the Most by Eric Church. We shocked everyone because all our guests were sure our song was Jason Mraz I’m Yours. They loved the switch and thought it fit us better. My grandpa and I were next. He chose I Loved her First by Heartland. I literally floated across the dance floor with him. My grandpa is Fred Astaire. I felt like I was on Dancing with the Stars! People came up and asked me if we had rehearsed our dance…I just told everyone “nope he’s just that good”! DH and his grandma were next. They danced to IZ’s Somewhere Over the Rainbow. DH lost his mom in 2005 so it was an emotional moment for him and his family. You couldn’t help but feel a heightened sense of warmth. It was definitely emotional. After DH and his grandma were done dancing the dance floor opened up and the party was on! Our DJ played everything from Top 40’s to Techno and Dance, to 90’s, County, even a little club mixed opera! It was great! There were people on the dance floor for every single song. The cigar roller I got DH as a wedding gift went GREAT!! Everyone loved it…especially DH. By 10:15 both DH and I were ready to call it a night…We had an impromptu farewell exit where our remaining guests waved us goodbye from the balcony overlooking the reception and we disappeared to our honeymoon suite. I was told the party raged on until midnight when the chateau coordinator started nudging people out the door.
It was a perfect night. Full of love and memories to last a life time.
Here are a few pictures to tide you over.
I've been begging people to send me more...so as they start trickling in I'll continue to post.
Thanks again to all my wonderful PW friends. Our wedding was the most amazing day of our lives and I have a lot of you to thank for that!!
