MADEMOISELLE`S RECAP PART 1
I am starting my recap 24 hours after our wedding.
The Sunday before our wedding we went to the park to take engagement pics. It was so funny. And it helped Alex to relax a bit in front of a camera....
The night before the wedding Alex slept in our house and I slept in my room at my parent´s place.
I woke up at six o´clock in the morning and by then I felt calm but overly happy. I took my shower and started with my diy makeup. I had always wanted to diy my makeup but I was worried that maybe that day I wouldn´t get it right. When I realized that everything deposited well on my skin I relaxed. At 7.30 our hairdressers arrived. Mother and daughter. We know them since I was little. They have been the hairdressers of my grandma. The mom´s started immediately in the kitchen with my mum´s hair. And us girls still chatted a bit. Then my friend said: ok, hun get the wig. And I said: Hun, You have the wig. She got pale, ran out and after 15 Minutes came back with the wig and close to a heart attack :-)).
It took them nearly two hours to snuggle the wig into my real hair, because it is baby soft, the wig did not want to hold. with around 60 pins and four hands, the wonder was created and I was thrilled. Then my makeup artist friend arrived to glue my lashes on and then I was alrready perfectly happy.
Around ten the first guests arrived and started taking photos of the preparation, the dress on the hanger and the whole stuff. Around 11.30 everybody was dressed and my mum and two friends helped me dress up. The ceremony site is close to my home, so we went on foot. The day before, it was dry outside but the light was very cold and sad. But on our wedding morning we had 23 degrees, soft warm light, no sun that creates shadows under your nose when you take pictures. PERFECTION. we went to the ceremony site where Alex waited for me. When I waked in, I saw a tear in his smiling eyes. What more could I ask for?
The ceremony was beautiful and the lady who married us was really sweet and nice. When she asked him if he wanted to marry me a cellphone rang. Yes, a cellphone. And the best thing was: it was Alex phone. Nobody EVER calls him on this phone. It is only for his mum and she never calls he always calls her. So since it never ever rings, he forgot to shut it.... and it rang right then. That was so tacky that it was hilarious. I was close to throw it out of the window with a smile. It was one of his friends who wanted to congratulate. goodness. After the monster stopped ringing, the rest went smoothly and he said loud and happily yes. and me too. :-)
We left the place as husband and wife and all smiles.
We went back home were we had prepared the refreshment for the guests. They were all so hungry that they swooped over the small buffet we had prepared at home. Everybody loved the table decorations and food was soon all gone.
After this we opened the presents people had brought. One friend gave us a cute couple of figurines of a little bride and groom. One friend had made three paintings (she is an artist) that were so beautiful they took our breath away. we got an antiwue print of the dome of milan where we first met and a wonderful summerplaid for our bed in our wedding colours. Love my friends for their gorgeous and thoughtful gifts.
After this we went over to the castle that you all know from the pictures in my bio to meet our wonderful fanstastic and sweet photographer Marta.
We took some pictures in front of the castle and then then took the cars to get to the hotel. We went with and citroen from 1934, it was wonderful. Both Alex and I had married before very young and unthoughtful . So we could not get married in church. I had long prayed for God´s blessing for our marriage. On our way we stopped at a traffic light..... suddenly a lady in a red blouse put her hand through the window ,gave us a little card and said: for the bride and groom: on the card was a rose, it was written:
You are loved. You are God´s love.He doesn´t leave you. God takes care for Your life in order that it does not break. God says: you are precious for me and I love you.
I cried when I read it. God blessed our wedding... while you ladies prayed for us. Thank you for every prayer you have sent.... they have arrived in God´s ears.
When we got to the hotel everybody had already arrived (newer cars :-)) for the first time we saw the room with the flowers my mum and I had prepared and arranged the evening before and brought to the hotel....I must confess that they were not beautiful, they were stunning. the room was glowing and the proportions of flowers and candles was perfect.
