mailin gifts or bringing gifts to the wedding

Is there a polite way to tell your guests that you prefer that they mail the gifts instead of bring them to the wedding? It seems like a lot of trouble to carry all the gifts back. Thanks in advance!

Do you have a website with all of your registries listed? I would put a friendly note there. Also, get the parents and bridal party to spread it word of mouth.

That's true. Maybe I can put it on the registry, and suggest that they buy the gifts online to take advantage of the free shipping. Thanks Soon2BWilcox!

Sometimes registries let you post a message - so put that you would prefer items shipped to the home.

Wedding website, if you have one, would be the best way. Guests should understand that one cannot possibly tote all that stuff back with them on a plane. Pottery Barn allows you to have special requests i.e. to hold shipping. I bet you could also request shipping only.
