Make Up Trial MAC Counter VS. Airbrush <PICS>

Ok so I think I will be going the traditional route for makeup vs. airbrush.  Back in sept, I had a trial with my MUA using airbrush and although flawless, I just didn't like it on me.  I felt like it made me look greasy.  This past saturday, I went to a MAC store for makeup application for my bridal portraits and was very pleased with the outcome.  Traditional makeup provided a more matte look to me and I prefer it over airbrush. Now I can't wait to see how my bridals turned out!!

I think you look stunning either way, but the MAC makeup does give more of a matte finish. I can't wait to see some of your bridal photos!

I love the MAC makeup...which is what I usually use. So when I went for my airbrush trial, it didn't seem as "heavy" as I was used to. (I used full on concealer, foundation and powder to my daily mix) I emailed my airbrush artist and explained my situation and the day of my wedding, my makeup was just as I wanted it. I told her to add more powder and to make myself less shiny. (I have very oily skin)

The reason I am bringing this to your attention is because my girls hired a MAC artist to do my makeup for my bachelorette party. I LOVED the look, however with me sweating in the club, the face part became a runny disaster (as it normally would if I did it myself) During my wedding, I was a dancing queen and felt sweaty again, I ran into the bathroom to do a makeup check, and once I blotted my sweat, my makeup was FLAWLESS. It never ran or anything. Plus, with the additional request for more powder and such to make me look non greasy, it was just the way I wanted it to be.

Depending on your face type (oily, sweaty, what have you) I would seriously consider having a chat with your makeup artist and showing her EXACTLY what you want.

I'd def go with the traditional makeup approach just based off of the matte finish. Either way you look fab!

Thx chics!
@primobride thx for the story! I actually had a "sweat test" too because we were shooting my bridals for 2 hours in different locations and I got hot with all that running around! And started sweating:( I used blot powder though which made all the world of difference. I talked it over with my MUA (she is a former MAC artist herself) in TX for the wedding day and although she pleaded her case on the airbrush she didn't fight me on changing my mind especially once she saw the pics for comparison. I think I'll be straight as long as I have my secret weapon of MAC blot powder armed and ready to go!
