Mamas - Bathing Your Baby

I keep reading that you shouldnt give your baby a bath everyday because it can cause them to have dry or irritate their skin and what not.  However, we give Blake a bath everyday (lately it's been so hot and he gets so sweaty I couldnt imagine not giving him one) because we use it as part of his night time routine to get him ready for bed.  Anyone else do that?  We lotion him every night too and we've never noticed him having any skin issues.

We give Jada a bath every night. When she was 3 weeks old she had an infection and the doctor told us we should continue to bath her every night to prevent it's return so that's what we've done. She's also a pretty sweaty girl so we'd probably do it anyways.

we bathe every night too - her neck rolls get irritated if we don't keep them really clean.  i always make sure to lotion her up and down after baths to prevent any drying out.  aveno baby is awesome!

We plan to do baths as part of the nightly before bed routine. My Sister did it with my Nephew and it really helped him with winding down and relaxing.

You can also look into organic soaps/bath products that may not dry baby's skin out as much. For us, personal choice, we're going to try and stay away from J&J products

so i thought i would share this story here...

i've been sitting in the bath with evie each time because she screams the entire time if she's just in her infant tub.  so last night the inevitable happened...she pooped in the tub.  right on my legs.  then into the water.  the worst part is that this happened at the beginning of the bath, so we had to hussle through in a poopy tub.  lovely!

We started out bathing our LO every 3 days and now we're up to every 2 days. I have a history of excema so I just wanted to start out slow in case he has very sensitive skin like I do. But so far he's been fine so we'll probably start trying every night cause it helps him fall asleep so well :)

Haleigh that story totally made me laugh! I haven't had to deal with poop during bathtime yet but I have been peed on! Boys reach far lol

Haleigh, Blake did that in the tub the one day!! I was like omg......what is he doing?! haha And like you, it was the start of his bath, so I had to hold him naked and pray he wouldnt pee on me while DH scrubbed his tub so we could refill it again.
