Marrieds: How do you find motivation?!

I lost 17 lbs before my wedding & now after 10 months of marriage I am up almost 20 :/  I did have thyroid cancer during that time period & so I feel like I have an excuse for some of it, but ~2/3 of my clothes don't fit & I feel gross.  It's time to change!!

So tell me...how do you find motivation when you don't have a wedding dress to fit into anymore?!  Thanks :)

I set goals for myself....I just pick local 5k races every couple of months and so it's an excuse to "train" for something.

I'm glad you're better Plum!  For me, I have a bunch of weddings I still have to go to this year, and I want to look just as good as I did during my wedding!

I may not be married but I understand what it is like to struggle with health issues. I have struggled with my weight since high school and in the past few years it has been discovered that I have a hormone condition that can cause problems with it.

One thing that I have found to be helpful in my battle with weight is those thoughts of my future. Like focusing on my FI, or in your case your husband, and how he deserves to have a healthy you (in the sense of controlable factors). There was the promise of your lifetime... and just think about how important he is to you and how much you want to give him.

The second factor I think of is my future children. I want to be able to run around and play with them without getting winded. I want to be a good role model for them both in behavior and health.

The final factor is thinking about everything that I want to do in my life... and how those things will be easier to achieve if I am in shape. It isn't even about losing weight as much as it is being in shape, fit, healthy, and confident.

I'm with Miss*Bling, I have a bridesmaid's dress to fit into, and I have to stand next a girl that P90X is her life, and another who is 90lbs just because and I will NOT be the fat bridesmaid, I will NOT do it!
