MARRIEDS: If You Could....

If you could change ONE thing about your wedding day, anything, what would it be?

I would change my hair style. Since my hair is naturally straight it can't hold a curl for anything and by the end of the night it was looking like HOT MESS. I would of gone with the simular look but maybe something with a lot more braids.

The ONLY thing I would have changed would have been making sure the florist did our tall centerpieces right. I paid SOO much money for them, and they were teeny tiny. But - to be honest that was IT, everything else was perfect :)

The only thing I would change is to follow my instincts on a couple things - namely the flow of the reception. Our venue opened up the food stations (against my initial hesitation and push-back) while we were taking photos. By the time the bridal party made their way inside, everyone was done eating and I felt like there was some lag time. We didn't get to eat and just made our way around to the tables. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but I really wish I had stuck to my guns on that one!

I would of spent more time with my out of town guests at my Welcome Reception/Rehearsal :( I was so busy overseeing every single aspect of my reception the night before (such as picking out my uplighting and adjusting the placement of my cocktail tables) that I didn't get the chance to properly thank them for coming! I ended up leaving after my rehearsal and briefly greeting my family members. Thank God that my mother & mother-in-law stepped up and explained why I was MIA :-/ I should of calmed down and enjoyed the moment more instead of obsessing about all the little details. For my vow renewal, I will focus more on my guests and less on decor...lol!

Marrieds to be: Make sure to ENJOY every single moment associated with your wedding and please try NOT to get caught up in all the "little" things. Trust me! Everything will work out so you don't need to obsess about the placement of your guest book or the amount of tea lights on each table...lol!

i would choose a different MUA. i LOVED my makeup.... but she was over an hour late to my house, which caused me to get to my 11am wedding at 1130am. which snowballed into us having to rush to do pictures because we only had the limo until 1pm, so everything was 30-45minutes behind, and i didnt get a few of the important shots i wanted. ALSO, i would have tried my dress on again before my bigday bc when i got dressed (at 11am mind you) the clasp as the top of the zipper BROKE! my dress was a little loose on me, so that hook and eye was very important and it snapped off bc we were rushing. so all of my shots of my back, theres a small V where the zipper wasnt staying up. which wasnt a big deal because how my dress was designed, it kind of looks like it was supposed to be like that, but when i look at pictures, it makes my skin crawl seeing that. i am just thankful that my reception dress was perfect. that may have been my best wardrobe decision i could have ever made.

otherwise, my wedding day was perfectttttttt

The one thing I would change is having my dumb A$% florist botch my vision of PALM TREES up...... I should have gone with my gut and ordered them from the place I knew would deliver REAL PALM TREES..... not palm bushes... or palm something or other related to the palm tree..... still a major disappointment that I didn't have the real trees incorporated into my ceremony like I wanted......

My Maid of Honor.  She didn't want to be there and didn't help much.

Thank you for that ButterflyGap :) My wedding is a ways off but I keep telling myself that no matter how crazy it gets...no matter how much I hate being the center of attention; to just embrace it and try to enjoy every moment of that day.

I get soooooo emotional everytime I think about walking down the isle and my momma not being there :(

I want to cherish LITERALLY every second of that magical day.  I know it will pass so quickly.

It was so hot the day of my wedding that I didn't get any great shots with my bridal party. We were just ready to get out of the sun and once we got to the reception, it was all but forgotten! When I see all these great shots of everyone else with their bridal party, I get a little green with envy! Also, the photographer didn't take any ring shots. How did he forget about that?

I feel like at the time I didn't appreciate everything that was going on. I wish I could go back and really enjoy the whole thing through new eyes. I was very young when I got married though so I think that had a lot to do with it. Also I would have definitely hired a wedding planner! I was so stressed and pretty much had to do everything myself so a wedding planner would have been nice.
