Marrieds: Your Wedding Dress!

Hi Ladies,

So now that all the hoopla is over with the wedding. I have no idea what to do with my dress. Its been hanging behind my door now for 2 months and I want to put it away but don't just want it to hang in the back of the closet. Did you ladies get it preserved? If so where?...did you go back to your bridal salon, davids bridal or your local dry cleaners?

I saw DB had a promotion for $99 but I just don't trust anyone with my dress. KWIM! Just curious to see what you ladies have done. Thanks in advance!

Mine is hanging in my closet. I am going to have it shortened into a cocktail dress to wear on my first anniversary. I knew I wanted to do this the day after the wedding and I am so excited!

Mine is hanging in the closet until we do a RTD/Newlywed shoot or decide not to. After that, it'll get preserved following suit of the photo below found on Pinterest. I may make some keepsakes out of it OR an idea was given to me that I have it altered to be a short cocktail dress and wear it for an anniversary or vow renewal.

Frame your wedding dress! If you look closely, the back of the frame is the bottom part of the dress! Great for dressing room or walk in closet

Because I'm selling my dress, I just cleaned it at a trusted bridal gown preservation company and did not have them box it up and pack it with preservation materials.

I'm trying to sell mine...I don't know what else to do with it! It's just hanging in our back room now, and somehow I can't see paying buckets of money to have it preserved so it'll just sit around more. I'm going to keep trying to sell it for awhile, and then if nothing else I'll probably donate it.
