Mermaid Costume vs Flower Girl Dress

So I came up with this idea. Since I'm having a beach wedding...I was thinking my flower girl could wear a mermaid costume instead of a dress. Halloween is just around the corner so finding one shouldn't be a problem. What do you guys think?

Super cute and I sure she will LOVE it! My 5 year old niece will be a mermaid this Halloween...

I would just make sure that she is comfortable in it (with her mid drift be exposed?) and she can walk on the sand in it (so maybe shortern the tail?)

I'm not worried that she'll feel uncomfortable with her mid drift expossed, she's VERY sassy for a 5 year old lol. Last time I went to her house, she told me she was getting rid of all her baby toys. When I asked about her barbies, she said she was only keeping the ones with "short skirts"...she's very into Bratz dolls now. However I'm going to talk to her about it anyway =o).She may say, however, that costumes are for babies...and if thats the case I wont force her. I do think the idea is really cute though, guests are sure to get a kick out of it.

Good point about the tail, if she agrees to wear it, I'll have it shortened.
