Yeahh first welcome and a huge congrats on your BFP. I'm actually 9+1 and had my very first appt on 06.17.2013 at 5+0 and my doc were only able to see a little sac and a good endometrial hyperplasia but no other check up. So it was a very short first vist. So he told me to come back in two weeks on 07.01.2013. The Doc dated me on 6+5 and we were able to see the sac with the baby and the heartbeat. Baby measured 0,9 cm. This time we made all the important checkups and it was a huge difference to the first appt.

I think everything is ok when your around six weeks and only were able to see the sack. It might be you O later than you think in your cycle. But if you too nervous I would call your doc if he is able to make another US earlier so that you could calm down. I really can imagine your fear - every time when there is a little stich in my belly I'm sooo nervous. But try to think positive - it's easier said than done but it's the best for you and your baby :)
Please keep us updated!

Congrats on your BFP!!!

Like you, my first pregnancy ended in M/C and I was a nervous wreck for EVERY appointment I had this 2nd pregnancy until DS was born.  My doc doesn't have anyone even go to the office for a visit until they're closer to 8 weeks.  Even then all he does is confirm your pregnancy with an ultrasound and you're lucky if you can see the heartbeat at that appointment.  After that initial appointment with him, you see midwives the rest of the time and the next appointment after that one is all paperwork haha.  I think I signed more documents then, than I did when I bought my car haha.

I know it's hard to not be nervous when you've m/c before and I even had bleeding early on this 2nd time around and all turned out fine.  I had a very healthy son back in April.

Congrats on getting a BFP!!

For my first appointment (at 8 weeks)they did pap and had me pee in a cup. It was super short and I didn't get an ultrasounds until 10 weeks.

The best thing you can do for you and your baby is to enjoy the process and try not to worry (I know, easier said than done).

Congratulations!

It is totally normal to feel nervous... really, it doesnt go away ever, but it seems to ease up when you start feeling the baby move. My OB was the same as AuntTate's, where they wouldnt even try to date the pregnancy by ultrasound until AT LEAST 8 weeks. Although, at the time when I found out, I wanted desperatly to get an u/s ASAP, i am thrilled after the fact that I was forced to wait until there was a visible baby & heartbeat in the sack. I would have felt the same way you do had I gone too early! My very first appointment was with my Primary Care Dr who had me do a pregnancy test and answer any general questions until I saw my OB at around 8 weeks.

Keep us posted mama!

Congrats on your BFP! My first appt was much like the other ladies here. Pee in a cup, BP taken, and confirm pregnancy with ultrasound. I was 8 weeks. So we saw a little peanut. :)

I hope you're able to relax and enjoy the journey, and I'm wishing you a H&H 9 months. :)

Congratulations! It's perfectly normal for OB visits to be short before 8 weeks--most doctors don't need to see you before then. I too suffered an mc previously, but so far my little boy is growing well. Just keep positive and try to minimize stress.
