motivation to exercise?

I've been working a lot lately and consequently gained 5 pounds in the past two weeks! =( I think it's the stress that causes over-eating, and it's difficult to make time to exercise. Ok, I realize I'm making excuses buth UGH.

So for the busy people out there, how do you stay motivated to stay healthy and exercise everyday with a busy work schedule?

Go to the gym early in the morning! I tend to get too tired by the end of the day and usually end up giving up.

I just get into gym clothes ASAP. Eventually, I get my butt to the gym (rather than change again). Also, I have a lot of work-out DVDs that I use at home when I don't feel like going to the gym.

It is the hardest thing to do...but what I do..is I look in the mirror at my flabby arms at night...and set my alarm in the morning for 5:15, so I can get up and leave by 5:30 to get to the gym by 5:45...and I look in the mirror again at the gym at my flabby arms...and then I take a shower and get ready at the gym...it sucks
but I get up immediatly..if I hit snooze or even lie in bed for a second I am not going...

Another tactic I tried..was packing my bag the night before with the clothes I plan on wearing to work...along with my makeup...that way I have to get up and go to my car...at least once you are at the car..the hardest part is done.

It's easy for me because I am a swimmer. I have been in the swim team since high school and my body literally "aches" if I don't hit the pool at least a few times a week. So I don't really need any motivation because my body will automatically tell me to "go hit the pool"!

If you don't have time to go to the gym or go work out, maybe you can change your diet and do some stretching or meditation when you get home, which will release some of your stress. Eat more salads, fruits and more small meals during the day than 2 to 3 big meals!

Think about doing a 'bootcamp'! I joined a women's only outdoor exercise program about 3 months ago and it's been great. Like you I'm busy at work and figured the only time to work out is to get up early and get out there! You'll be motivated by the other campers, and by the fact that you're outdoors.
