Just wondering how everyone is deciding on their music for the ceremony. Are there any good music forums for ideas?
Thanks gals :)
I am doing a church ceremony.. all of my ceremony music will be picked through them so I don't have any input for that, but here is a link for some ideas!
I'm doing a church ceremony too, so my list of selections wont be near as long as if I were choosing from contemporary music.
In the beginning, when I was told I had to stick to hymns and couldn't use contemporary music I panicked a bit, but now I'm so happy my list of available music is considerably smaller.
I have narrowed down my prelude and processional music, but nothing yet for during the ceremony nor the exit song.
Have you discussed music the person doing your ceremony or your DJ, if you're using a DJ?
I went with music that we both loved but then again, I didn't get married in a church so it didn't have to be necessarily religious. Definitely think about love songs that have some meaning to both of you and your relationship.
Ditto jocemae :-)
I envisioned how I wanted each part to be (the bridal party entrance, my entrance, the recessional, etc.) and picked songs accordingly. Most of them were light and/or instrumental.
The PW song lists usually have great suggestions.
I am also a big fan of Vitamin String Quartet. If you look them up on Youtube, they offer string versions of contemporary songs. So great for wedding ceremonies! We used Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" for our parents' processional.
I too am struggling with this part of the wedding planning.
@msdl-I just looked up Vitamin String Quartet and LOVE it!! What a great idea. Thanks for posting :)
