My First Anniversary
I had been planning my 1st anniversary three months after I got married. We were supposed to have a photoshoot and have my dress fashioned into a cocktail dress. . . Unfortunately did not happen because of medical issues. Scheduled couple massages and dinner at a fancy restaurant. . .Hubby had to work Sunday morning so cancelled both.
What did happen was spontaneous, beautiful and more than I could have ever asked for! Saturday evening we went out with friends, our "rat pack" to a restaurant called Hayden's. Food was excellent, ambience was superb and enjoyed our friends immensely. Hubby said he was going to the bathroom and came back with a bag for me. I said "Cale we agreed not to exchange gifts! He said you deserve it, please open it. I read the most beautiful card that had my eyes tear up, and my friend told me don't you dare let those tears fall! He had a picture of us from our wedding day in the bag and the tears just spilled forth from that small gesture and the remembrance of our day. Last but not least, he brought me my first pair of diamond earrings.
Sunday we planned on going to the movies and to dinner after he got off work . After hubby got home and made me an omelette, we went to go pick up our anniversary cake. When we returned, he said he was going to take a nap while I planted some flowers. When I got done with that task, I was pooped and crawled in the bed with him and lay in his arms. I told him I didn't feel like going to the movies or dinner, I was where I wanted and needed to be. So he fried chicken, french fries and we watched movies. He told me to do something for him and when I returned back in the room, he had candles lit everywhere, had the cake placed and had gotten the picture he put in the bag blown up front and center. I was crying so hard I didn't know what to do! Didn't do anything we planned on doing but everything was just how it was supposed to be!
