My Traditional Nigerian Ceremony

I'm very happy that my family embrassed the heritage of my spouse and his family. I don't have any professional pictures from the wedding yet, but I do have pictures of the traditional ceremony held the night before the wedding.

My husband's nephew took all of the pictures w/his Canon.

The ceremony included everyone getting dress in their traditional attire that we had made for everyone in Nigeria. Me getting my head tied w/the traditional wrapper, the ceremony and introduction of the kola-nut, and some other special moments. I really loved how my family and friends supported me in this endeavor and in embrassing the culture and their contributions! Also you can see how we really incorporated the wedding colors into the attire, Stephen and I wore pale yellow lace attire, cherry red head attire on his familie's side and in the skirts of my families side, the silver outfits of the men in his family and the gold in the top on my families side and the ivory clothing for the women on his families side. It was really nice.

Here are a few pics from the ceremony, but I have many on my profile.

And here is a write up on the wedding:

This is beautiful!  Two years ago my DH's cousin got married and his father is from Nigerian.  It was so beautiful to see his parents in traditional attire and then change into the attire from Nigeria.  The women looked so regal and like queens in their dresses and head dresses!  It was stunning. I can't wait until you get your pro pics back!
