My Vows (please help edit)

Tonight we wrote our vows and I am in need of another set of eyes (or several sets) to help me spot errors or rough areas. Would any of you be so kind as to take a peek? And, if you like our choice of vows, feel free to use them in your own ceremony.

Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens. A good marriage must be created. In the art of marriage the little things are the big things. It is never being too old to hold hands. It is remembering to say 'I love you' at least once a day. It is never going to sleep angry.

It is at no time taking the other for granted; the courtship should not end with the honeymoon, it should continue through all the years. It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives. It is standing together facing the world. It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.

It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy. It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways. It is not expecting the husband to wear a halo or the wife to have wings of an angel.

It is not looking for perfection in each other. It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humor. It is having the capacity to forgive and forget. It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow. It is finding room for the things of the spirit. It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.

It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal. It is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right partner.

NICOLE and PHIL, you now stand here as two individuals at the beginning of your life as one.

PHIL, please repeat after me:

Niki, I promise to trust in your love,
to listen to you openly,
to speak to you honestly,
and to love you always.
I am your laughter, and you are mine.
With all my heart I want to share your life,
and I promise to share mine with you.

NICOLE, please repeat after me:

Phil, I promise to trust in your love,
to listen to you openly,
to speak to you honestly,
and to love you always.
I am your laughter, and you are mind.
With all my heart I want to share your life,
and I promise to share mine with you.

It is in the spirit of caring and desire to share all that you are with each other, that you exchange the following promises. Please hold hands.

PHIL, do you solemnly declare in the presence of these witnesses, that you take this woman, NICOLE, to be your lawfully wedded wife? (I DO)

Do you promise to support her, love and cherish her, protect her and care for her as long as you both shall love? (I DO)

NICOLE, do you solemnly declare in the presence of these witnesses, that you take this man, PHIL, to be your lawfully wedded husband? (I DO)

Do you promise to support him, love and cherish him, protect him and care for him as long as you both shall love? (I DO)

Do you have the rings?

PHIL, Place the ring on the finger of your bride and repeat after me:

"NIKI, accept this ring as a symbol of my love and affection."

NICOLE, Place the ring on the finger of your groom and repeat after me:

"PHIL, accept this ring as a symbol of my love and affection."

May the circle of these rings signify your unending happiness, now and forever.

NICOLE and PHIL have sought and accepted each other joyously. They come here as two and will leave as one. May all that life brings to them strengthen the bond they have declared this day. May all their loved ones continue to rejoice in the warmth of the love that has united them. May they be comfort and joy, counsel and strength to each other. And may the home they will build shed its peace on them and all who seek its shelter with them.

NICOLE, PHIL, by the virtue of the authority vested in me by the State of Nebraska, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.

Thanks! I guess I am not so much concerned with grammar, but if the format looks right. I think I have everything I need:
-Intro
-Vows
-Rings
-Well-wishing
-Pronouncement

Did I miss anything? And no, we are not printing these for guests, but I will print of a copy to put in our scrapbook.

Looks good but this...
Phil, I promise to trust in your love,
to listen to you openly,
to speak to you honestly,
and to love you always.
I am your laughter, and you are mind.

I think the last word should be Mine. :)
