Natural Family Planning birth control

I have been on the pill since DH and I got married, but recently found out some things that made us decide stop taking it. Instead we are going to move to Natural Family Planning (NFP), or rather the Fertilty Awareness Method (FAM), which is basically understanding and tracking your body's natural signals and rhythms to learn when your fertile times are every month. Then during that time, which is only a few days a month, you can either abstain from having sex (NFP) or use a barrier method (FAM) in order to avoid getting pregnant.

NFP is safe, effective, and cost-effective :) If you are interested I highly recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. You can skim through the book on google if you want to look closer before ordering. Also, there are classes offered from most Catholic churches (but it certainly is not just for Catholic people!).

This is a very personal topic - I'm not looking to stir up any controversy. I just wanted to spread the word about FAM - I had not heard of it until recently when a friend told me about it. I'm excited to get started charting!

I really hope this will help others. We are not having children. But congrats to you!

I wish to do this, but the way my cycle is working these days, I worry if I will be able to make it.
