MEATBALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can just buy the frozen ones... Turkey, beef.. Whatever you choose :)

Throw them in a crock pot with a mixture of a jar of grape jelly and a jar of chili sauce.

Put them on low for a few hours.  (Time varies with the type of meat you use)

Put them on a plate with toothpicks and you are set to go!

They are SUCH a crowd pleaser and DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!

Beer Cheese Dip!  Super easy & better if made the day before OH- and soooo yummy!

  • 1 package Hidden Valley Ranch Dips Mix (the dry stuff that they sell near the salad dressings)

  • 2 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese

  • 2 (8oz) packages Cream Cheese, softened

  • 1/2 to 1 cup beer (any kind works)

  • Chopped green onions & extra cheddar cheese for garnish

  • Pretzels or assorted veggies for dipping

Combine the dip mix, cheddar & cream cheeses with a mixer in a medium bowl. Gradually stir in beer until it reaches a slightly creamy texture. Enjoy the rest of the beer yourself. Garnish the top with the extra cheese & green onions.  Place in refrigerator until ready to eat.  It is actually best if you make it the night before and let it marinate.  Serve with the pretzels and/or veggies.

The beer cheese dip is very good.

You also could do mini shrimp cocktails like the tomato soup idea.  Just pour some cocktail sauce in the bottom of a shot glass and hang a couple cold tail on shrimp over the edge.

How about Caprese?  Just slice a good fresh mozzarella, tomato & basil and top with salt & pepper and drizzle with Balsamic & EVOO.

How about Caprese Just photo 2943387-1

If you want something more finger-food like, you can do them in skewers by using the marinated mozerella balls with cherry or grape tomatoes with basil between.

These are great ideas!

I love Caprese, the only problem is that I will probably finish half the platter!

I have made bacon-wrapped little smokies for several events now (including my sister's baby shower 2 weeks ago) and they are always such a hit!!  I usually double this recipe to have leftovers for DH :)

Brown Sugar Smokies

  • 1 pound bacon

  • 1 (16 ounce) package little smokie sausages

  • 1 cup brown sugar, or to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. Cut bacon into thirds and wrap each strip around a little sausage. Place the wrapped sausages on a toothpick. Arrange them on a foil-lined baking sheet and sprinkle them liberally with brown sugar.

  3. Bake until bacon is crisp and the brown sugar melted (~30-45 min).

  4. To keep them warm, place the smokies & the pan drippings in a crock pot on low.

If you are looking for something a little sleep may I suggest fruit slices- apples, bananas, strawberries, and such- with the sweet cream cheese dip. Take cream cheese and blend it with a little bit of lemon juice and brown sugar. Then whip it until it becomes soft. Serve with the fruit. It is delicious and people couldn't stay away from it at my friends shower.

We always do those meatballs, the bacon wrapped brown sugar smokies, fruit and veggie trays, and usually some kind of cheese ball.  We've actually started making little individual cheese balls that we scoop with a cookie scoop and roll in nuts.  They are adorable and they're a perfect serving size!

Trader Joe's has party meatballs and you use their Kansas City BBQ sauce and keep them in a crockpot.  It is soooo stinkin' yummy.  We did that for N's birthday party.  They were the first things gone.

Oh, we also did hummus and you can do mini pitas or crackers.

The smokies sound scrumptious... as does the sweet cream cheese dip.

Trader Joe's has lots of frozen apps.  I love to walk through their frozen food aisle to get ideas.

You can also get a cheese tray and serve with crackers.
