Need Help with Ordering Paper for DIY invites!

So heres the story.. I love these invites http://notfromabox.com/index.php on the front of this site, the booklet ones. Lets hope they keep that as the opening page so my post makes sense...

And I am going to order my paper/envelopes from invitesbyyou.com. I am going to get a normal 8.5 x 11 size paper, fold in half to create the booklet, put the invite on one side and the other inserts (RSVP, envelope, directions) on the other side. For the invite side I am going to have red as the booklet color, layer of black, then layer of ivory... What sizes do you guys think I should have these layers cut to???? You can get them pre-cut which will save a lot of effort and time on my half but have no idea what to have them cut to...

Akr12, I'm going through the same thing, but I'm using 5 x 7 pocketfolds, the black layer should be 1/4 smaller than your booklet and the ivory layer should be 1/4 smaller than the black layer. So assuming your book is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 (which is half of 8 1/2 x 11), the black layer should be 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 and the ivory layer should be 5 x 8.

have you both checked out www.cardsandpockets.com? They have the pocketfolds to DIY at a good price, but I don't know about booklets.

I agree with Chica. Decrease each layer by 1/4" in heigth and width. That will give 1/8" border all the way around. That is exactly how I'm treating the dimensions on my invites.

I'm using pocket folds from www.cardsandpockets.com. They're awesome! What a lifesaver they have been. It would have taken me forever to make my own pocketfolds.
