NEED OPINIONS: Bridesmaids

Hey ladies! So I finally went with my ladies to look at bridesmaids dresses. I want to do teal dresses. We found a chiffon dress that we all loved and it comes in teal but they didn't have it in teal to try on. My one friend though made a good point that I had originally wanted to go with a more satin, or charmuse fabric with the teal to make it pop. Now I just feel confused though because my dress has chiffon so maybe the chiffon bridesmaids dresses would compliment my dress better? Any input on this?!

My dress: Dress we liked (but in teal):

I think it compliments it well, I like it. But if you aren't certain I would keep looking. I'm sure you will find the perfect one that matches in the fabric you want.

THis is probably the worst advice...but go with your gut! You all loved the dress pictured (and it's gorgeous!!), so don't second guess yourself. Did you try any satin teal ones that you liked?

The thing is, I felt certain until she brought up that point so we are going to keep looking just to be sure but I just wanted to see what other people thought!

@Uhlease-they tried on some satin but not in the teal I wanted so that's what the hang up is! We loved this one but then the lady at the store told us that style didn't come in teal. So frustrating!!

I'm gonna say that I agree with Elise on going with your gut.  I think the dress compliments yours beautifully.

PS - you look gorgeous in your dress.

EDIT:  Is this the dress style?  Jordan Bridesmaid Dress 463

I really like the way the chiffon BM dress complements yours, its very pretty and echos the soft flowy-ness off yours as well as complements the flower accent. It's a very pretty choice. If you really want a satin, though, I'm sure you can find one you like somewhere.

I would say maybe you can add a satin sash to their dresses for that little bit of pop you want, but it wouldn't work with this style because of the flowers on the shoulder... I think, in this case, it would kill the look. however, If you found a similar chiffon dress without the shoulder accent, you could easily add a satin sash and maybe have your girls wear a chiffon flower in their hair.

just a thought, hope this doesn't confuse you. whatever you end up doing will be beautiful. Good Luck!

you look GORGEOUS in that dress by the way!

This is just to show you what the chiffon would look like with the satin sash.. You can find any simple chiffon dress and that have the sashes made if you cant find a dress you like that comes with it.

I really love that chiffon style and think it goes perfectly with your dress. But ditto the other girls - trust your gut. It is the one time that you get to choose, so pick the one that you like. (And even better that all your girls liked it, too!)

To Uhlease's point - are you referring to the satin one when you say it doesn't come in teal? If so, all the more reason to go with the one you like! :-)

I totally agree with She1! Great advice and my sentiments exactly! The dress compliments your dress so well and you look just gorgeous in your dress! When my bridesmaid went to try on their dresses, they were chocolate and the color for my wedding was champagne, so don't let that be a hangup for you! When is your wedding? In the summer? If so, I would go with the chiffon dress. Very light and airy and oh so comfortable! That is all my bridesmaid raved about is how comfortable they were in their dresses.

IMO, the fabric of the BM dress doesn't have to match your dress at all! I like that both have the sweetheart neckline, and that is enough to draw it together for me.

Thanks for all of the input ladies! I do love the dress that I posted and it does come in teal. Sorry about the confusion..another dress we liked in satin is the one that does not come in teal (I don't have a picture of it!) We are going to look at one other place so I'll keep you all posted. I'm glad to know everyone thinks they look good together though, it puts me at ease a bit. Thank youuu!!

As a bridesmaid more times than I can count ALL that matters is YOUR OPINION!!! No one else should be saying much.

I will say that if you have any girls that are more shapely than others make sure the dress looks good on them or else they will be hiding like I did for one of my friend's weddings and I was the MOH LOL. I bought a wrap to cover the excess cleavage and would not take it off.
