Need Some Help.. BIGTIME

So my wedding is January 2010 and I'm hoping to lose 30 pounds (at the least) by then.  I've started the 30 day shred and will be doing that Monday through Thursday.  Friday is my rest day.  Saturday will be the Turbo Jam Cardio Kick, and Sunday will be the Turbo Jam 20 minute workout.


Any suggestions?  I'm trying really hard to eat healthfully, but I hate vegetables and am really picky with my fruits.  I've stopped eating rice, and am trying to keep my carb intake down.


Anymore suggestions to quick weight loss?

It all sounds good. Lots of water, lean protein, and wheat. Just try not to weigh yourself all the time. I know when you are trying to lose weight quickly it is a huge temptation to want to weight yourself every morning. Try to only do it once a week. If you do it everyday and see some fluctuations (even after a perfect day) it can be disheartening. So, weight yourself 1 a week at the same time.

So that's what, 1.8lbs a week weight loss? Not too overly ambitious/impossible! I've done it before. (and gained it all back just as fast. yay. fast weight loss is nearly impossible to maintain once you ease up on the diet unless you dive in even deeper into excercise.) My advice is just to drink at least 3 litres of water a day and at least an hour of intense cardio interspresed with 10 minute bursts of resistance (pushups/resistance bands/lunges/etc.) the best way to lose weight is with interval training. Did I mention to DRINK WATER!! 3 4 oz servings of lean protien with green veggies with 2 100 calorie snacks between meals will get you there fast and give you energy to burn with all your excercise. It takes a lot of discipline to lose 2 lbs a week because you will have to work even harder to burn the same amount of calories once you lose weight as you did 10 lbs ago. Just consistently raise the bar and you'll make it!


You need a daily calorie defecit of 880 to reach your goal which means that you have to burn 880 more calories than you ingest every single day to lose the weight: not all of that has to be from excercise. Google "BMR calculator" to find out how many calories you burn doing everyday activities.  Doesn't leave much room for cheating or alcohol or any of it. Gotta keep it clean, but you can do it! It's only 4 months.

Thanks ladies, that was really helpful.  I've been trying to stick with drinking water, but seem to always forget.  At least the good news is, if I'm not drinking water it's fruit juice, which although has lots of sugar, is better than soda i guess.


Hrmph.  I'll keep at it.


@theprincessbride Thank you so much for telling me that it's only 1.8 lbs a week!  That makes it look a lot more managable =)

Suggestion:  don't eat cupcakes (except on special occasions of course), misscupcake.

p.s. theprincessbride is the weight management suggestion queen... she apparently has studied this lots because she seems to have great tidbits like that.  She told me I need to lose 3 in. off my waist and hips to be my goal size which to me sounds better than saying 20 or 30 pounds.  I love new ways to look at it.
