Nervous about looking for the dress?

I have never been comfortable with my body. Before I had met my FI, I had always been self conscious about my body, but once I met him, I kind of let myself go. I am not big, just a little on the heavier side. I am extremely nervous about dress shopping. I have no clue why. Is anyone else feeling/felt this way??

I am sure my nervousness will subside once I start getting in to them. I've looked online for dresses, but that's as far as I got. Lol.

Just make sure you go to a place that has plus-sized samples, otherwise if you are not feeling comfortable with yourself it will make you feel a lot worse. I am pretty comfortable with my body so when the sample size was stuck around my boobs and the consultant was trying to pry it off I was laughing, but Im sure everyone wouldnt react that way. Try Davids Bridal, Alfred Angelo they have alot of plus-size samples to give you an idea of what you like, but once you find the dress you are going to be amazed at how slimming they are...

since your wedding isnt until ocotber 2011 - you have tons of time!

if you arent comfy now - you have time to drop some weight before you hit up the bridal salons =)

Also don't let the sizes discourage you.  When my street size wouldn't fit me I was like SAY WHAT!!!!???  I felt so fat lol.. but then I realized they all just run so small compared to everyday clothing.

I was excited, scared, nervous and even intimidated when looking for a dress.  But I did my research online, searched for dresses that come in plus size and then looked for places that carried the dress.  Just a note, you'll more than likely end up wearing a size up from what you normally wear in street clothes...why? I dunno, it just so happened to be that way whenever I tried on a dress.  Did I stress, yeah, but I had to tell myself that it's ok.  There are dresses out there to fit our curves!  And I think the place and the people make a HUGE difference! I was really pleased with how my dress lady made me feel at Trudy's.  She was great and she put me in a dress that is stunning!
