Nervous about wedding dress!

I always thought Id go dress shopping the day after i got engaed (not litterally the day after but close). However, for some reason ever since I've gotten engaed I've been putting off going dress shopping and Im not really sure why. I feel like I've looked at so many dresses online Im going to be one of those girls on say yes to dress who doesnt know when i put the right dress on! Im so worried I wont get that "WOW" moment and i wont just "Know its the dress". I feel like a crazy woman for being so nervous about trying on a wedding dress!n We are going on tuesday and I just wish I was more excited and less scared! did anyone else have this problem?

not me!

I looked on online and had an idea of what I'd like.

went to 2 places thus far and got my WOW factor from the 2nd spot....haven't signed on the dotted line yet though(see my wedding dress hunt thread)

Trust me, you'll know.

Have an open mind and be in the moment...its suppose to be a joyous experience!

Good Luck!

I didn't get the 'wow' moment - I found 2 similar dresses that I liked and it was my Mom's reaction that made me buy the one I did.

You'll be fine, don't put pressure on yourself to have a magical-everyone-in-tears moment, if it happens then that's great but if it doesn't then that's ok too xxx

I think you just need to make an appt and go. When you try on THE dress you will know. Try and tell yourself that you aren't going to buy a dress you dont think is right. You dont have to buy a dress the first time you go.

Start now so you have time to find the right one!

I was afraid I wouldn't find THE dress. I was afraid I would fall in love with one that was way over my budget. I was afraid I wouldn't look good in any style.

I had the same worries and you know what? You'll know it when you see it! She'll make you feel beaufitul and she'll make you smile. I'm not an overly emotional person so I didn't expect tears or any of what you see on TV. I didn't cry, I didn't get all giddy inside, but I still swoon over it and how she made me feel!

Don't feel bad or scared that you won't have that reaction! I didn't either! Buuut, have fun, try on a ton and you most def don't have to buy the first time you go. I think looking back I wish I would have tried on more. I LoVE my dress, but once you feel a certain way about a dress it becomes special!

I didn't get the 'wow' moment either, but my Mom and MOH did!

I had looked at a TON of dresses online, and we finally scheduled a little roadtrip to a salon that had what I thought would be "the one" in stock to try on. I tried it on and it was as lovely as I thought it would be, but you should always try on a variety just to see what might strike your fancy :)

Honestly, it's so hard to really see what a dress will be like until it's on you, even if you've seen it online, and it's hopeless looking in the store because in the bags/on the rack it's so hard to tell. So try a bunch on, just start grabbing lol.

I remember that I had found one with beading detail that I liked, and when I came out in it...my Mom and MOH were just like "Whoa". Stunned is the expression I would use. I didn't get that, but I sure loved their reaction. I ended up not buying it that day, because it was the first salon I had ever been to.

But I found that same dress later, at a different salon, for much less and in my size - so it was fate :) I remember thinking "I haven't tried many on, I didn't feel that moment" and later I remember wondering if I had made the right choice...

...but IMO, there a LOT of beautiful dresses out there. If you find one that you like, that looks good on you and that you feel good in, that's all that matters. Chances are there are more than a few dresses out there that will make you feel that way, but since you can only wear one (usually, you know what I mean!) don't stress yourself out if you don't feel like you were hit with a bolt of lightening when you picked it :)
