Lots and lots and lots of storage containers- baskets and such.

I don't really have advice for specific rooms, but I have all my storage/organization set up then put all my junk, I mean stuff, in it. Whatever does not fit gets tossed.

I agree with m.h.1.23 lots of baskets/containers. For the bathroom-I like to keep two baskets. One under the sink or wherever you have a little storage space and then one on a shelf/counterspace/wherever it is easy to get to. The one under the sink is for products I need but don't use daily such as deep conditioner treatments. The one that is easiest to reach is the things I use everyday-brush, gel, whatever. I also have a little box for just hair clips/bobby pins/hair ties. I used to be really bad about leaving bobby pins and clips everywhere until I got that little box

the undersink area is sooo small in our master bathroom....we have two sinks, and slowly i've started taking over DH's side too!!!  we also have that little area between the sinks, under the countertop....i'm thinking of getting a small curtain and tension curtain rod to hide things under there!  i prefer to have everything put away...right now there is a shelf and basket inbetween the two mirrors...full of stuff!!

I suggest LOTS and LOTS of storage containers! When me and FI moved in together it was an "intersting" transition...and neat little storage containers helped - a LOT!

Closets:

Organize your clothing first by type of clothing, then by season, then by color that way it is very easy to get dressed in the morning. For example I have hanging: Shirts, jackets, dresses (goes by length) then short sleeve to long sleeve, then organized by color.  On shelves or in drawers I then have sweaters (by sleeve length then color and weight) then shorts, skirts, pants each one has its own shelf or drawer that way i can open it up and know exactly what is in it.  I use baskets for my bras, socks and undies (each one has its own)  This makes it easy to put everything away as well.

If you need a way to get rid of things that you don't wear (and have issues getting rid of things like me...) when you hang up your clothes in the beginning of the process hang them up with the hanger backwards, then once you wear an item turn the hanger around.  After a few months (or season) look at what is still turned backwards and most likely you can get rid of it! Unless it is something you would only wear at a specific time...

My main tips are:

Keep the things you use most often the easiest to reach (esp. in the kitchen) and store things used less often in harder to reach areas.

I organize the closet based on color, sleeve length and season (store out of season clothes in bins and place under bed/storage closet.

keep the make up brushes in a pretty container out, they will get left out one way or another :)  And put the make up you don't use as often in small drawer/containers out of the way.

Not sure if that is helpful, but it works for me :)

Under our bathroom sink I used drawer style plastic containers.  I LOVE them.

2 of these on one side for curling irons, hair dryers, and bottles of stuff.

Then this one on the other side for misc stuff, like hair brushes, bobby pins, medicines, ointments, aloe, feminine products, etc.

All nice and neat.

I have to completely gut my office/guest room and star over.  That place is a disaster zone.  I want to make my closet a mini office, since we both have laptops, we don't need our bulky desk anymore.  Any suggestions?

Oh and it still has to fit two golf bags, a file cabinet, a storage container of electronic crap, and our luggage up top.

How did the office become the "wedding room?"  Lol!!  I have to un-wedding it somehow.  Where does all that stuff go?  Most of no one else would want, it's either too personalized, or not worth recycling.  Some of it I don't want to throw away....uh can we say pack rat?

i'm definitely tackling the office soon...i can't even walk around in there right now!!!  it's full of empty boxes and packing materials!  i need to get rid of stuff...but there's only so much we can fit in our garbage cans each week...when we were getting tons of wedding presents, we had tons of boxes and packing peanuts and wrapping to get rid of!!

I am FINALLY starting to get it together- I am so unorganized and a mess lol Jason's just learned to deal with it and love me regardless hahaha

- Anyway, I love having my bathroom organized now!  I have a basket for crlers & irons under my sink, one for lotions/body products, and one for medicine.  All my other baskets are those TINY ones lined up- and I use those for little things- one for nail polish, hair band/clips, etc.  And it seems to help having a place for each 'theme' KWIM?

- All my wedding stuff took over my house, so I went through it all!!!!!!!!  I sold what I could, threw away what I could, and for the keepers I got those long flat tubs (2) and dedicated them just to wedding/ planning keepsakes and stored them undermy bed.  I feel so much better that I got rid of it all now! Out of sight!

- I was piling up on books, random ones, college, fun, etc.  I found this bookstore by my work and you can sell, trade, donate them, etc. So I have been doing that as well- this is helping me get rid of some boxes of books that were taking up storage space- lol I don't need this CRAP anymore!!!!

- I organized and labeled ALL my scapbooking stuff- in those 12x12 clear container drawers from Walmart (similiar to pictured above)  Each one is organized with my stuff specifically so everything has a place and I don't have to dig through everything to find one thing!  This has helped a lot!

Thats about it for now lol I have A LOT more to do an dneed to get it done now before Bambino comes lol b/c it all in his room and were slowly going through it all.  I have adult ADHD and these tasks are not my thing- lol no patience anymore ;)

~ HMM :)
