New Officiant Tears At my Heart
So earlier a lot of you saw my post about our issue with our officiant and though it was an honest mistake, my gut told me not to trust her. So I emailed her and told her though I appreciated her, we were going to go with someone else.
About three hours ago my friend Meagan (who is a wedding planner) suggested her friend Amber to me. Apparently she is just starting out with officiating, so obviously I was more than interested. Well I talked to my friend some more, and come to find out that this young woman's husband was the victim of a tragic train accident just a year and a half ago in Longview, Washington right across the river. He and fellow loggers were driving across train tracks to the mill when an oncoming train (who failed to alert
His death left her and their unborn baby girl with no husband and no father. As a nod to this, all of the money that she makes from officiating is being donated to a shelter that helps families who are recovering from losses that are affecting them financially and emotionally as well.
Obviously, I am very excited to help her out and to have her officiate our wedding, but I just thought that I would share this with you all. It has made me just a little bit more thankful for Josh and for his family who has become mine, and how blessed I am to be able to spent another day with him.
Hug your loved ones extra tight tonight ladies. We all take the presence of having our fiances and husbands next to us every night and every morning for granted all too often.
