Spring/Summer 2012 Baby Bumps!

New to this group (yay!) with a few questions...

I can't believe I can finally join this group :)

Firstly, congratulations to everyone else in here who's had their eagerly awaited BFP! May we all have sticky little beans and healthy pregnancies!

My name's Nadine and I live in England - I got married to my lovely hubby in June and we started ttc just before then.

I hesitated before making this post, as I'm still just 16dpo and very aware that this could be a chemical pregnancy and it's still very early days. However, I also know about the power of positive thinking so I've decided to let myself get excited... :)

I have POAS for the past 3 days and got BFP's every time - this morning significantly darker. In fact I did three sticks this morning (which DH thought was hilarious) but hey, I got a bit carried away lol

A couple of things, I'd love your thoughts on:

I've been getting mild AF-like cramps. I understand this is quite normal though? I've also been getting (TMI alert) some grim yellowy/brown CM... :-/ Similar to the end/beginning of AF... Anyone else have this?

Another thing which may be TMI is that, whereas most women complain of difficulty going to the loo at this stage, I've been going more regularly than normal! I have a very lazy bowel which means I usually have trouble, but I seem to be getting the opposite effect since my BFP?! Again, sorry for the detail... ain't this pregnancy lark glamorous, eh!

On the plus side, I've been feeling a bit 'hung-over'... Not quite nauseous but just a bit, well, hung-over! Seems I am constantly tired but keep waking up throughout the night for no reason. I usually sleep like the dead but not the last few nights.  Sounds wierd but this is the only symptom that's making me believe it's actually happening so I'm quite glad of it!

Sorry for the long essay! And thanks if you've managed to read this far :)

Thank you Victoria!

The spotting seems to have gone today, just have grim CM! I've booked an appointment to see the doctor next Friday - at which time they apply for the scan appointment and arrange midwife appointment etc.

I think you're right about the nerves actually. I usually get looser bowels when I'm really upset or nervous about something. Plus, when I've been waking up in the night, my brain is just a whirlwind of pregnancy related thoughts! This could also explain why I've lost my appetite, as I tend to do that when I'm nervous too.

At the moment I'm just looking forward to the doctors apt next week and trying to keep my thoughts occupied with other things! :)

It's great to have a bunch of other ladies to talk to who are more or less at the same stage! :)

Hi and welcome, Nadine! So excited to see you over here :)
Ditti, Victoria.
I am about to start week 9 on Monday and so far no MS and no real other symptoms. I mean, yes, I feel "fuzzy" (kind of your description of hungover) but nothing really major.
If I didn't have a test and an ultrasound to prove I was pregnant I would think I was possibly about to get a cold or something!
Here are my symptoms:
My boobs ache for about 2 min at the end of the day when I take my bra off.
I still have AF like cramps (doctor said it was my uterus stretching)
I am more tired than usual but I am chalking it up to poor sleep at night and no caffeine.
I have been going back and forth between constipation (which I barely identified because it was not severe) and diarrhea(not constant) but again it is not every day. Maybe every few days.
Some day I eat like a horse and some days I can barely eat more than a few bites of food at a time so I eat more often.
I fly for work every week and the worst thing I have experienced so far is that the pregnancy seems to be aggravationg motion sickness. I feel ill on take off and landing and for a couple of hours afterwards. I got home Thursday evening and felt badly all the way until last night(Friday), ugh...
I have, in the last week or so, had in increase in discharge but it has been clear in color. Unfortunately, it has a stronger odor. Not necessarily bad but I am aware of it for sure. Maybe it is the super pregnancy smeller we have now? i hope!
Now that I typed it all out maybe I have more symptoms than I think! :) But honestly, overall, I feel pretty good.

Anyway, no TMI on this board! lol :)

Congrats!!!

Yay, Nadine! So good to see you here! :)

I have yet to get a full night's sleep since getting my bfp...it's frustrating! I wake up at least once a night to pee, but it could be because I've upped my water intake.
I know the loose stool is totally normal. Mine hasn't changed either way but my SIL had diahhrea every morning when she was preggo! I make sure I snack on high-fiber snacks to help prevent the constipation (mmm...prunes :) but I don't know what can help with the opposite!
My boobs were sore for only a few days but now that's gone away! I hope that's not a bad sign :/ Oh, and I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been so irritable lately! My poor dh gets the brunt of it so hopefully that won't last much longer!

Glad to hear your spotting has stopped, Nadine! And I'm jealous your first appt is next Friday! Mine's not 'til the 30th!!

Thanks so much for the advice and feedback ladies, it's really helped reassure me and I'm pleased to say I'm starting to relax a bit now! I managed to get good sleep over the weekend and I even managed not to POAS on Sunday lol!

G8R.Girl, yep my boobs hurt when I take off my bra too, and when I lay on them in bed. They are big enough at the best of times, so I'm dreading them getting bigger, but already they are starting to swell.... oh dear, no more jogging for me!

Karen, the appointment on Friday is basically just to let them know and get 'on their radar' really. I won't get a proper midwife appt until I'm 8wks. But I think seeing the doctor will help make it a bit more real! :)

Clightner, vent away! That's what we are here for! I'm sure I'll do my fair share of venting! ;)
