New Year's Day Check-in!
Hey everyone! I hope you had a wonderful NYE and are ready for 2013 (2013 brides, this is YOUR YEAR! Yippee!).
How was your NYE? Ours was pretty good; we fixed all sorts of snacks and had many of our friends come over to just hang out. We ended up getting a Soul Calibur IV battle going on our new PS3 (yeah, we're nerds, and we love every second of it) and didn't kick people out until 2 a.m. After cleaning up, we crashed! Today we are for the most part chilling--we'll take down decorations, maybe watch some football, and we will continue to observe the Southern tradition of eating black-eyed peas and cabbage; for those who may not know the significance, you're supposed to eat black-eyed peas for luck and cabbage for money on NYD to hopefully bring those things for the new year. We don't believe in the superstition in our household, but we enjoy abiding by the tradition. So I have some black-eyed pea and sausage soup in the crockpot, and we will eat cole slaw (because that's about the only way DH will eat cabbage).
